gold value of base ad is not the same as bonus ad

Bonus ad helps all damage abilities except the triforce proc. base ad damage only increases base damage scaling abilities and triforce proc and sheen

Not all auto centric champions have bonus ad ratios. For those that lack such ratios base damage is actually BETTER than bonus damage in some cases. I suppose the new runes do kind of throw a lot of ratios around though, so that might be a concern.

IDK the exact number but I knoe it equals to the amount of fuck Rito balance team give about non-adc roles.

what's the base damage of spells again?

lower base AND scaling than most ad abilities.

take for instance zed Q. 70 base + 90%, or 210 + 90%.

or an adc's Q.

caitlyn's Q 30 base + 130% scaling, or 190 base + 170% scaling.

vs

orianna Q 60 base + 50%, or 180 + 50%.

so riot really does intend for most abilities to fall into a certain damage range and for them to stay there, always, they cant give champions wave clear or poke but everyone still has to be able to deal "enough" damage to kill someone on the opposing team.

you quoted the minority of ad champions to say better base and scaling

how many examples must i give to show you without a doubt ad's have similar if not higher base and scaling damages.

over AP champions.

the compensaion is generally AP's have longer range or shorter cool downs. or a larger AoE.

but in general, AD's have better damage than AP's.

ad champions (aka fighters if you didnt get what i mean) on average will have 1 high Scaling damage ability that is usually on q to be used off cooldown and much lower than base damage than mage or adc spells. This doesnt do anything for fighters because they are so squishy if they arent building 5 hp items and boots the immediately die to adcs and pop to mages. Adc spells with be large base large scaling with bonus ad but they get about 2.5-3 times the ad of fighters while only being about 15-20 ad behind them on base ad adcs used to have significantly longer cooldowns but they were all buffed after mages got access to more cooldown reduction on their higher damage item because riot 'didnt want them to not have anything to do while they couldnt auto attack'. Mage spells also have large base damage unless it is a spell meant to be spammed in which case they only have large cooldowns for the ratio and frequency they can use it. Mages also typically have more scaling on 2 basic abilities than adcs bonus ad scaling on spells and they usually get 2-2.5 times the ap that adcs get ad and this is on a build where they max cdr. When mages gained more access to cdr base damages didnt go down only some ap scaling over time they were buffed back up and base cooldowns made lower to compete with adcs crit inflation.

it depends on who is buying the item.

bruisers with total ad scalings and high base ad get more than that 600 gold worth out of the 20% increase on steraks. skirmishers and assassins with bonus ad scalings dont.

but thats the entire point. to make the item most cost effective on bruisers.
