Why old draft should come back

So the big goal thing about the new draft system for ranked is that you are guarenteed 1 of two roles that u like.

You have your main preference, and your secondary preference.

However some major problems have happened as a result.

1-Challenger level long que times for people who aren't even plat. (the ten minutes aren't a myth)

2-People giving up on the support role

Details

1-If you are not even in plat, que times should never be longer than 6 minutes, this is absolutely absurd, I am waiting the same level of time that old challengers used to wait, without even being freaken challenger. Some people go "if you really love a game, you will be paitent". YES THIS IS TRUE. However why would i wait 10 minutes for league, when i love other games JUST AS MUCH that don't require me to wait. Now you can see why I would be tempted to turn off league and just turn on another game after 7 minutes of waiting.

2-It is a blantent fact if you put support as your secondary role, their is a high chance you will never get your main role, and just be slammed into support every time. Now this is a major problem for a few reasons.

-It discourages people who REALLY DO MAIN support as a SECONDARY role to no longer chose support -It discourages people from choosing support who like to try out a variety of roles.

Now here is my arguement in why the new draft pick changes almost nothing

So in the old way, if you were in the top 2 or 3 people to pick a champion you were almost guaranteed your main role the only time you had to question if you were gonna get your role is if you were in the bottom 2. Than I also know many people who main support as a secondary role, so if that guy was in the bottom two, he would almost never complain about not getting the primary role, and often easily say "ill just do support". Lets also not forget fill players who are more than happy to chose any role the team need.

So what was the point of the new system?

To encorage people to get what they are best at?

With how the new way works, que times are super long, most the times we get our secondary role, and very rarely do we get our primary.

So with that said, the new system is actually exactly the same as the old system, except it is worse in the terms, it discourages the ability to ask teamates to trade roles with you, it destroys any form of possibly democracy in getting roles, and it just makes hella long que times, while discouraging people to chose support, making the support player base, even smaller.

My thoughts?

Just go back to the old system while keeping the new graphics. At leaste than we didn't have to wait a million years just to play a single normals game.

The longer queue times are worth the wait to ensure everyone in the game gets at least one of their two best roles. The problem with the old queue system was that it was possible for players to get one of their weaker roles which detracted from the overall quality of the game.

The only problem with the new system is dynamic queue and the queue time problems wouldn't be nearly as bad if riot just removed it and added solo queue and ranked 5's with the new champion select.

in the new system, the statistics of getting your main role vs your secondary are quite honestly no different from the old system, infact in the old system is was debatebly higher.

In the old system unless you were a mid lane main back when mid laners could solo carry by themselves for that's how op it use to be. You were almost guaranteed to get your main role if you were in the top three unless your main role was mid. assuming you got into the top three. Which you had a very high chance of every game.

Even with the new system, if you put mid as your primary role, since it is still a popular role, granted not as popular as it was 2 years ago. you still have a high chance of getting your secondary role.

The new system is no different from the old one, it is debatebly worse, and the wait times are far longer.

We have lost more than we have gained.

You completely missed the point. The role of the new champion select was not to ensure that you get your first role more often, it was to ensure no one got their worst roles. Ensuring that 100% of the players in the game are in a role they are decent at is more than worth the increase in queue time.

Again, the main problem is dynamic queue and not the champion role selection.

i feel u are missing the point, unless u were hard core unlucky, u almost always got your secondary role in the old system anyways.

So besides longer que times, what have i gained with this new system? I am a player who heavily practices all roles, I feel best with mid, what have i gained with this new system?
