it's not "at the expense" of traditional adc, it's some match up some adc can't be picked against ziggs just like you can't pick jax into anything top lane
people are just used to adc picked in every game, and when they can't pick them against ziggs they call adc weak

Also, I imagine any ADC that can get up close and personal would be pretty good into Ziggs as well. Maybe

He's this mystical thing called an APC, they build AP and Carry, instead of building AD and carrying.
He's also not a marksman, as that is what I think you actually meant to put there.
As far as bot-lane diversity, other 'interesting' picks bot-lane include: Kennen (He can be an ADC or an APC). Zed (Yes, I've seriously seen high ELO players pull this in S4). Yasuo (Also S4). Ahri (S5, in place of an ADC, not as a support). Bard (Shortly after people discovered he can be played as an AD bruiser). Malzahar (AD build in S4). Nidalee (Odd niche pick, and no she technically isn't an ADC). Twisted Fate (Absolutely not an ADC, although an AD build does sometimes work). Azir (S4, still saw this off and on until the dash got nerfed).
Yes, Kennen is the only one who's been see in pro play, but pro play is not 100% of high ELO play.

Vesemir2 votesI honestly think all adcs are unhealthy due to their build path. The idea of crit makes the game unhealthy. It makes the winning or losing depend on RNG factor. ADCs shouldnt be able to burst people down with some lucky crits. Best abusers of crit are:

Jefftiffy1 votesI mean when you buffs mages and their builds nonstop and then fuck with the ADC early game so it is really awkward and Cait is top tier because she scales on top of early game ofc you are going to see people trying to find mages to beat bot lane. Because no ADC out ranges Cait and someone has to be able to outsiege her.
Nerf Cait's late game and Ziggs and long range siege mages will move back into mid lane.
