They wanted URF not ARURF. At least with URF you can fight cancer with cancer but in this mode its a literal diceroll to who has the most obnoxious team.

actually, in rare medical occurrences, a patient has 2 cancers and even though they harm the patient, they also drastically slow each other's growth; fighting cancer with cancer :D

I never asked for ARURF and I never liked it, the only reason I've played ARURF is because I was hoping to get the champions I wanted. I only got one champion that I wanted, once. I've never dodged so much in my life and I won't miss it when it's gone. I will always prefer URF over ARURF.

If AD I just build the spell shield on channel or lifesteal and ignore it. If I'm AP I just went zhonyas and never get hit. If I'm a shielder, well you get the point.

Funny though was when I played as him I just farmed and spammed ult regardless of scenario. Early game karth ult spa. Really punished people that itemize wrong.

must be pretty nice to be that oblivious to comprehend the idea that people make accounts that completely null the point of the random part. allow me to retort in a similar fashion as you so you might grasp the idiocy of this... i have 20 champs, 5 of them are good. good thing its random though so people can't bitch when I get sion and the enemy team gets zed,eve, morgana, syndra. good thing its random. how dare these people complain about it.

URF is still URF even if your champion is given to you at random and there are no duplicates. You can't tell me I'm wrong for that because that's literally the only difference I see.

The only difference between ARURF and URF is that ARURF is random.

And the ones complaining are mostly those who want to abuse Eve, Wukong, Shaco, Hecarim, etc. with only a handfull of legitimate players who wanna try out something offmeta.

URF was shit simply because you got flamed for picking offmeta. Don't like ARURF? Don't play it. Sucks to be on the receiving end of this, doesn't it?

And some of us simply hate getting shitty pick while still facing a lot of Evelynns, Fizzs and Yis. Got Fizz and Yi twice in row in my games. Doesn't feel much random when you see basically the same champions. What's the point of trying somethng new when your screen is grey most of the time anyway. Bans could solve this btw.

The ones complaining are the ones who want to play whoever the fuck they want. Don't act like you're so high and mighty by saying people want to "abuse" a champ.

And the difference between URF and ARURF is indeed that it's random, glad you figured it out. It's also the reason why a lot of people don't like it. If you didn't like URF, then why didn't you follow your own advice and not play it? Why complain and whine to the end of days about how you only saw the same champs?

yeah, i'd much rather pick my champion and enjoy the game than have games that can end with a 7:1 kill ratio in favor of one side

most of all, in urf, you get to do whatever you freaking want with whoever you want...yet ARURF...interesting concept, but people abuse its system just like they abuse aram

That's still a pretty important difference. You get the same problem you have in aram (games seemingly decided by rng, people with better champ pools winning more games), except it's a lot worse because the difference between the strongest and weakest urf champs is much bigger.

It also doesn't adequately fix the problem of not being able to play off-meta champs. Champs like yas were garbage in urf, and they're still garbage in arurf. You practically never get games where everyone has garbage champs so it feels more balanced because people will just reroll them and such.

I'd take arurf over not having either, but regular urf would be a lot better.

The queue is quite fast still. People obviously enjoy playing it; people just come to boards to whine about not being able to pick their cheese picks every game and having to face things they'd otherwise ban.

I think the silence of the masses playing it is being mistaken for nobody liking it.

It is not the equivalence (if anything they're almost opposites of each other in terms of what they offer), but it is unfortunately the replacement. Ever since arurf came out we've never had urf once.

I gotta admit i atleast played 2 urf games before i was done with it. So far i've only played 1 arurf and that was a disaster.

I can't believe 1 person can say both "blame kindred for jungling in urf" and " chill it's urf do w/e you want" within a 20 minutes game.

This happens every time URF is out. People always complain and then wonder why they rarely get it. Personally, I think URF should be a custom option instead of its own entire game mode. That would stop all of the complaining and free up a RGM slot.

Riot doesn't want mass amounts of people playing customs like old ARAMs for the same reason these game modes are temporary, they care too much about summoners rift players having longer queues.

This is only my second ARURF and I hated it the first time, (bad game knowledge, small champ pool) now I'm just in love.

URF is going to be dictated by bad team comps more often than 'who got the OP champs'. The usual rules apply (eg, Xin is weak to CC) but instead of stupidity creating the bad comp, it's mostly luck. This takes away a LOT of the tilt associated with real games since you can't blame your teammates for their terrible picks =)

Also if you're stuck vs something OP with skillshots it's great practice, and you can still goof around with silly splitpush tactics and try ridiculous builds and stuff, and no-one'll mind.
