AFK'ing is less punishable than flaming.
This game abuses people who want to win.
I get on after a long, hard day, and all I think to myself is, "I really would love to release all that stress in a nice game of League of Legends! Surely I can feel better after that, right?" WRONG.
This is a team game where your teammates don't give a shit. Do you understand how frustrating that can get? You're playing someone like Pyke, and your SOLE purpose is to go balls-deep with your ADC to secure a kill. So as you go in, land your pull, dash in, land the stun, but then, THEN, your ADC just walks away! And you're just standing in between an ADC and her support with no abilities! Who would find joy in that position? Who is content with being forced to endure that?
So naturally, I ask him. "What the fucking fuck was that, Draven?" Because you know, what the fuck was he thinking? BOOM. I get instant-feedbacked five minutes after the game ends.
I've AFK'd matches before and haven't been punished. I've known many people who've afk'd matches and haven't been punished. But when you AFK, the chance you lose that match goes from 90% to 95%, and losing is a major part in why I'm upset in the first place! So instead of just AFK'ing like any smart, sane person would, I join back, and I try. And I try, and I try! And eventually, we're able to pull through DESPITE the hideous ADC we were forced to carry.
But at what cost? Well, in order to not physically leave the game, I of course had to tell this Draven how absolutely fucking sickening he is for torturing everyone else in a RANKED GAME, solely to justify myself for continuing to play it. And since I simply MENTIONED the POSSIBILITY of someone else ruining the game for his teammates, Riot punishes it immediately.
Great.
