ARAM isn't really that fun in my opinion. The random element is so low that it's basically .75x Blind Pick, what with the ARAM accounts, re-rolls, and switching out re-rolls. You see the exact same Champions almost every single game, like Brand DrMundo Lux Sona Veigar Velkoz Xerath Ziggs Karthus.

In addition, if feels like half of the players in the match are on their hardcore main. The median proficiency is absolutely ludicrous. Not a good environment to get stuck playing a Champion you've only played a handful of times, but that really is what ARAM should be epitomizing - getting out of your comfort zone. That ends badly when everyone can just hedge a bet against a random roll by utilizing the mechanics offered. Not disparaging the people who do, it just creates an environment that is, at best, slightly-less-than-Blind-Pick.

We need an unlocked roster.

id like aram if it was actually random, its the same champs in every game and you know the outcome of the match just from looking at the loading screen, oh they got a lux and teemo and we got a udyr? guess we auto lose unless everyone else on our team is an artillery mage

I wish they paid a bit more attention to aram.

Like some champions are straight unfun to fight against. 1 of few example is Veigar, His stun is a bit nuts for a small map.

I mainly play ARAM, SR is boring and stupid at the mo.

But ARAM is ruined by ADCs, I can deal with a Ziggs but an ADC just makes the games less fun for me. A cool fair comp either side will be ruined by an ADC hiding at the back just auto attacking.

90% of the games I play are aram. I unfortunately disagree w/ most of this.

  1. Trolls DO matter, quite a bit actually. 4v5 is still 4v5.
  2. I won't argue that, though I could.
  3. I have had MANY painful runs where it is gg at the loading screen. So many games are one sided stomps. Some are good but there are plenty of one sided matches.
  4. I agree w/ that, though I don't feel like I ever waste my time when losing other games/matches.
  5. While there aren't ranks, there are still plenty of ranked players playing who make sure to tout their rank, why they are better than you etc.
  6. Forgetting to swap your runes screws you as much as it does in ranked/normal. Just because the game mode changes, doesn't mean having the incorrect rune set up doesn't "screw" you.

  8. A come back is fun in aram. Much more fun in ranked where it actually matters.
  9. You have been lucky about no one freaking out. It doesn't happen as much as it does in ranked but I see people freak out all the time over build, k/d/a etc. Sadly, it is worse in lower lvl/noob games due to smurfs.
  10. All depends on your team. Many games, you have that teammate running from base, not paying attn or not caring, running over the health when a near by teammate could have used it. I have seen plenty of trolls do all they can to eat up the health while their team needs it because someone wouldn't trade w/ them in champ select.

I love aram but it's far from perfect..

I've aram'd myself out of it. I'm literally gonna drop dead if riot doesn't give me something to do. hell I'm about to go play some ivern adc to have some fun at this point. this is the driest this game has been.

I still enjoy ARAM games. Nothing compared to Dominion, but it's a similar sort of casual break from SR.

It would be better balanced if there was another item to help soak up early-mid game poke, and to counter this Warmogs should be toned down. This would help those melee champs that feel useless into mages but stop tanks becoming too good with better early game.

Guardians Resolve (Cost 1600 gold) - builds out of item 1028 item 1006 item 1006 item 1033 +350g 200HP +25 HP per 5 (doubles for 10 seconds after taking damage from enemy champions)

UNIQUE: nearby ally champions receive +10 MR.

This would help vs the full mage comps that poke you down into oblivion before the game gets going.

All this thread has taught me is that if Riot has a truely unlocked pool of champs, all the try-hard stick up their ass people are going to come play ARAM. Which is bad.

If anything, take a lesson from Jesuit Priests and Judo - You should be playing with a total unlocked account in ARAM as much as possible to ruin the game for dopes who make ARAM accounts.

Honestly, I'm there enjoying myself. They're screaming at their monitors, none of it matters. Learn to play as instrument instead of wasting your time.

With time these will change, had a team that started to shame a kayn with a KDA of 5/15/whatever, where he was trying to set up engages in a game that would become less likely to win as time went on. He was like the only one trying to make a fight we would win.

You will feel like you wasted your time when you get darius against ziggs, cassiopia, singed and heimer all on the same team.

I wouldn't say it's THAT much better as there are still people who behave poorly in ARAM, though it is far better from my experience then even a normal match, especially after they changed the health shrines so there isn't any more trolling by stealing the health shrine. Even more so they have become a sort of quick "hold the point" mini-game seeing as the enemy can try to fight you off the shrine and use it for themselves.

now we just need a better system for the giving out skin system, why can't it just make ALL skins available, like come on you pay 95 rp for a 1 game skin, but noo instead you pay 95 rp and what do you get? blue ezreal, hobo udyr, blue shen, purple zac or some other worthless skin that isn't even worth 1 RP to use for just 1 game
