is picking ekko into illaoi a counter or a skillmatchup?

Ekko easily exploits illaoi's weakness' but illaoi has the sustain and damage to out-duel him (Granted she beats almost anyone in an extended brawl, but still.)

I play both champs a lot and would enjoy hearing others feedback on this matchup

Skill matchup

Definitely a skill matchup. Same with Yasuo, Riven and Darius to name a couple others.

A skill matchup. Heavily reliant on Ekko being able to dodge/kite, same thing with Illaoi managing to either outlast or stay out of his stun and land her shots, and then the whole thing with her and Ekko's ults.

It really irks me when people dont build executioners vs draintanks/sustained damage dealers.
