Why wasn't Master Yi given a small amount of attention with the assassin update?

I understand he's a DPS oriented fighter like Tryndamere but he plays like an Assassin. He has the lowest amount of CC in the entire game and is shoehorned into either assassinating targets when nobody is around to cc him or dueling. He's performing horribly right now and with the fervor of battle nerf he's only going to become even worse. He depended on that mastery more than any other champion.

Maybe his kit is a bit toxic or linear, but that's exactly why he needs attention. More changes like his last E nerf where it scales better but has lower flat damage, except this time it needs to be a rebalance instead of a flat nerf. Give him changes that force him to keep his huge weaknesses and take risks without making him toxic or worthless.

No, he doesn't. He doesn't possess the burst to take down a target unless he has become dramatically overfed, nor does he possess amazing target selection and focus.

Have you ever played him? You have to play like an opportunist, not an ADC or fighter. It's more similar to an assassin. You either wait until the enemy's abilities are on cooldown or target caught out enemies. He plays EXACTLY like Kat.

Even Tryndamere will become totally useless if the enemy just slows him after he charges in. Doesn't matter if he can't die, he still isn't dealing any damage.

He's not an assassin. That's it really. This is an assassin update, not a melee carry update.

Yi likely won't see significant buffs until he receives some kind of rework to make him less linear. That will likely have to be an individual rework, because the skirmisher/melee carry class is one of the ones in the least need of a roster update (with only one other champion in that group needing a rework, Tryndamere).
