Dual wielding swordsman that ignores items unique passives?

Think of a bersrker champ who wields 2 massive great swords in each hand. Normally ppl would have to use both hands to wield one of those swords but not this guy. Thats how strong he is.

Anyway, what makes him unique is his dual wielding passive.

Passive: Dual Wield This champ can buy 2 of the same items while ignoring the item unique passive penalty.

All this means is this champ can by 2 item 3031 and gain 300 percent crit damage for example. Or he can use 2 item 3100 utilizing its proc twice separately on 2 abilities. Or 2item 3089 for 1.7 bonus ap.

Essentially, because he can dual wield so well, he can use each hand to activate unique item passive separately. He may even have 2 separate attack speeds for each hand. So Like item slot 1, 2, 3 will be for his right hand, and items slot 4,5,6 will be for his left hand.

I know this is op but he will have drawbacks

He will be like a Juggernaut. Slow and powerful. So his basic attacks/swings are wild and heavy throwing him off balance. So after every basic attack, he will stay rooted for 0.2 secs just so he can regain poster. He will have range like 200 tho. Remember, he has massive great swords.

His abilities can be a little like Yasuo Q. Meaning his Q can take different forms depending on how you combine it with his other abilities. Like Yasuo Q E combo.

Just a thought. If its op then he can have a damage reduction on unique passive like how yasuo has reduced crit damage.

This sounds like it could get really out of hand.. 2 item 3027. 2 item 2045, 2 item 1001 of any kind, 2item 3508 would be interesting.. I just feel that it would be wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too hard to balance.

This is a cool idea, but a lot of those are balanced around being unique. It would be interesting to see, but I think balancing it would be impossible.

Ik it would be hard to balance, but they did sorta manage Yasuo double crit passive.

The double crit is set off by two things: The fact that his crit damage is 10% less than normal, and the fact that his base AD is pretty bad, so he's forced to build crit to be able to be of any use as a damage dealer.

How would you go about offsetting the fact that this theoretical champion can have the same item passive twice on some of the most powerful items in the game?

I would start by allowing each hand to only benefit from 3 items each. So Item slots 1 2 3 go to the right hand, and the remain slots go the his left hand

So something like this

Right hand :item 3078 item 3009 item 3812 Left Hand: item 3078 item 3031 item 3053

Each hand would only get 3 slots allocated to it.

Now his abilities would be linked to his attack speed, so, if he basic attacks, it kinda counts as an ability and vise versa. So he won't be able to attack and use abilites at the same time

And remember, those items are expensive
