So did riot just give up on clash and RGM?

They did testing in oceania right? And the last time they unveiled it to everyone they dropped the ball, hard. Riot has all these additional game modes and ideas in the form of blitz, TT, Ascension, etc.. but they don't do anything with them. I know they said they came to the conclusion that urf caused and influx and then exodus of players but they never gave a reason for why the other weekly random game modes vanished.

I remember they did nothing but give us poro-king for a few weeks/months straight in the beginning of the year and then they just turned it off. The only thing since then was the odyssey event which lets be frank was riddled with issues of its own.

I haven't heard anything about clash in a while and i fear its just going to get swept under the rug like all the others. Giving the player base something else to delve into with a group would give us a competitive scene that isnt flex which mind you No one takes seriously. Its odd how riot focuses on changes in order to keep the game "fresh" but they don't allocate resources to keeping separate game modes up to give people a place to unwind. But there isnt one really outside of aram which still has that issue of people having profiles dedicated to that game mode, unless you are one of those players who goes into ranked games with zero intentions of taking anything seriously then in that case you have your bases covered since you are there just to wasted other peoples time.

If there were designated "for fun" game modes and other modes that were timed competitive events like clash i can certainty see players like myself feeling less burned out on the game and having something to look forward to when playing the game.

They stopped doing the weekly rotating modes because it was taking too many resources from making new modes, things like Odyssey: Extraction.

And they’re still testing Clash. They’ve released a couple updates on it. They essentially have to rebuild the core functionality of the game. It’s going to take some time.

Yep, the new profile page has a section dedicated to Clash. If they'd abandoned it, they wouldn't have made it a point to keep that during the recent profile changes.

WUT?

how on earth does it take resources to take a game mode they made previously and put it up for rotating?

screw "clash".. the amount of co-ordination it takes for me and my friends i would want to actually clash with to all not be working on a work project or college classes or something else at the same time is never going to happen

I WANT NEXUS BLITZ BACK!!!

that was literally, the most fun league has ever been since season 4

Because it wasn't just "flip a switch and turn the mode on". There was hours of testing for everything, as well as monitoring that things were working correctly when they activated the modes.

The FGM team had to take care of all that, which was taking time and resources away from creating new modes. It's why the same 3-4 modes were constantly repeating.

As for Nexus Blitz, that's an entirely different thing. It's not a featured game mode, nor was it removed for not being in a time period or whatever. They were running a test for those 4 weeks, to see how everything was working. Currently another test is planned to happen soon.

Thats a loose excuse if ive ever heard one, the game modes i referenced are already finished and functional they dont have to make new stuff for them just open them up for play each week. There is no correlation between someone designing something new and making a game mode accessible that reminds me of the whole sony crossplay thing where they cited it as a drain on resources but realistically all you would need to do is "flip a switch". They were already doing it, and they stopped pretty early in this year and we have had one game mode to show for it so that doesent come across as a genuine answer.

I'd be happy if they just brought back blitz. It was basically aram bit more fun, perfect for when u dont have the time for a full game
