I really don't mind a loss if the enemy played better than me, and I come out bruised and beaten with a negative score. Atleast then I feel like the loss is justified.
And I agree that there is always place to improve but too often I'm playing well but I just can't seal all the holes in the boat.

You have a bad mindset, instead of saying "We lost but it's not my fault", you should be like "We won and it's thanks to me".
