OK so syndra and ori are being nerfed
i hope that after world, when balance returns to plat+ you will nerf

Malz is kinda OP i agree to that, or at least hella frustrating.
I play him for it x)
But i had absolutely no idea that Anivia was OP too, just how? O_O
http://www.leagueofgraphs.com/
maybe because she belongs to one of the strongest champion in the game? malz had always a broken design since his rework due to his passive
anivia on the other hand, 600 AA range, but we complain about ori being too safe, she can Q and Q again to stun unlike aurelion sol and in soloq, her wall isolating targets so easily and instantly makes her retarded
not to mention her stun spear combo can do about half your health before she even hits 6
Oh boy, do you ever hate that spear combo of hers. That ability alone deals more damage then anything else in her kit. Q, tolerable; R, don't stay in for too long; E, whatever; Q E or R E, what the bloody heck!!??

Anivia's E alone is one of the weakest abilities from mid laners 150 base + 50% AP. When it's empowered sure it goes up to 300 + 100% AP but that is an ability that is nothing but damage and requires the use of another ability to be useful. Even looking at that damage,
's Q does more damage than Anivia's Empowered E while offering even less counterplay and gives him utility.
Viktor's Q does 140+40% AP (600 range, Anivia's E has 650), then he needs to go into AA range (525) to deal another 100+50% AP, so not only that "his Q does more than Anivia's Empowred E" is wrong but Viktor needs to expose himself more to the enemy than Anivia does with her E and needs to auto, offering more counterplay.
What type of argument is that? It's incredibly easy to get the empowered E on Anivia with her ult.
Also arguing that Viktor offers less counter play with his Q when it takes him into AA range and has its damage layered over 2 parts...

Try to get some one in Anivia's ultimate for 1.5 seconds if they have mobility like

. Yes against immobile champions, getting people in her ultimate isn't hard but if you face some one who can easily just jump over her wall then her ultimate really doesn't matter much unless you predict them and land a stun on them.
Viktor's Q is layered in 2 parts sure, but in a way so is Anivia's E since for you to take that empowered E, you'd have to get hit with another of her abilities. Viktor can go through both of the parts of his Q really fast if he is in auto attack range when he uses his Q, and as I mentioned before...you get a pretty decent movement speed boost when using your Q so unless the target Flashes or dashes away, they will get hit with the auto attack part of him.
And I'm not trying to make it sound like I think Viktor is OP or anything, because I know he is not, nor do I really think his Q is to strong or anything either. I'm just pointing out that Anivia's E is not the only strong nuke spell from a zone control mage that this game has, and at least with Anivia it requires the use of her other abilities and the only thing it gives is damage.
Ahri isn't even hard to deal with for that. Put down R. See where she's going with her R if she uses it, and throw a Q at her destination. Worst case you only get the detonation damage and not the pass through.

What if she dashes away from you and not towards you? If she dashes closer to you, then you are right, you can predict where she'll land and hit her with a Q, which
is kind of in the same state, though Leblanc is much more annoying since it's a basic ability so she can do it all the time, while Ahri would have to use her ultimate. If she dashes away from you, then by the time Anivia's Q travels towards the area she'll land, she'll have enough time to re-use her ultimate to reposition again.
This wasn't towards it being hard to deal with those champions, but for them having an easy way to escape the Ult + Wall so it'll be hard to keep them in the ultimate. Though out of the list I gave there, Ahri is the more easier one to hit of them and her mobility is in her ultimate while the others aren't (Besides for Kassadin but his CD of his ultimate is really low).
My apologies I am aware I said:

I am aware I said her E is strong but I was sure that I stated the combo is what is strong, not just her E specifically. I was typing quickly and didn't process what I typed 100%. Sorry about that.

It's true that her combo does a lot of damage but that is the bulk of her damage which can be avoided. Her ultimate is canceled by all hard CC now and her Q is a slow projectile that is easy to dodge and her wall is only really strong against immobile champions (or champions you know used their escape). You could save your CC for when she puts the ultimate under you and cancel it instantly, and then avoid her Q and she wouldn't be able to do anything.
Though the only thing I would say about her being "cancerous" or any of her abilities being strong would be her wall. I feel she is fine (and in fact her play rate and win rate has been dropping past 2 patches ever since her nerfs in 7.14) but if they would nerf her, I feel it would be ok to hit her CDs (mainly her Wall since that is what people are complaining about in high elo from what I heard).

Translation: you don't have hard CC or you have a hard CC but is first hit and Anivia is behind minions, you are screwed. Don't make it sound sooo easy. You are correct but not every champion can deal with her as easily you stat. Just keep that note in mind.
at least thats kind of dodgable tho whats cancer is when she ults and walls behind you. basically no counterplay because it only needs 1.5 seconds to charge up now hehe
And the slow is so strong she either gets a free stun or you literally cant escape and her team shits on you.
She doesn't seem to have a high popularity though,
Are you sure it's not just a case of mains propping her up on the charts like kog has done a hundred times?
Anivia is painfully slow, needs a lot of lvls and items (tons of gold) and she also needs a solid frontline to really shine.
In my world she´s rather situational and her laning is really hard against anything with more range or mobility since she´s hard to dodge with and mobility cuts her damage in half or more.
And teamfights are hard if the earlier mentioned conditions arent met or if enemy has a strong engage or something like a blitz.
I used to play anivia a lot just to try and understand but i could only get to the conclusion that she is situationally really good but if one of the conditions aren't met then she will face difficulties or even struggle a lot.
And that's if she gets past laning too.
Anivia was nerfed 3 times in a row awhile ago. :)
Not saying I agree or disagree with OP, but just because a champion got a nerf doesn't mean they are suddenly fine. Janna is the most nerfed champion in the game but is still a good pick in SQ.
Janna will constantly be picked because there isn't a single number you can nerf in her kit REASONABLY that actually means something. As long as she has her get-out-of-jail free cards in Q and R and the sheer utility her W/Passive give there will never be a time she isn't AT LEAST viable.
is not broken, she has a lot of weaknesses and is very easy to deal with. She is never played in LCS anymore and the times she is, her team loses and she does really poor because people in the LCS knows how to fight her and take advantage of her. Her win rate may be high but her play rate is very low which is only 3%. So most of the people who play her are more experienced players than just some random people. Also she was just nerfed in 7.14, even though they claimed it was "bug fixes" what they fixed were thing that was added to her intentionally when she was created, so it wasn't bug fixes but nerfs.
Even using probuilds, she isn't played all that much by the pros in their elo. All the games she was played in was by basically 1 person "Ninja" so not many people are playing her and her ban rate is like 1.4% globally which is nothing so no one even considers her threatening enough to ban.
Yes I am an Anivia main, but when I go up against one I know how to fight her and how easy she is to shut down. She has a lot of tough match ups as well, you just got to learn how to fight her.
You keep saying she's easy to shut down but you never actually say how tho :^)
Anivia spikes the hardest mid game. Typically going even with her will give you an edge during late game. She also has a bad early game against most champions. A few champs that hard counter her early on are

You keep saying she's easy to shut down but you never actually say how tho :^)
She has the lowest movement speed in the game, with no escapes, and the lowest base hp in the game and also one of the most mana hungry mages in the game. So keep that in mind, but here is a general way to shut down Anivia.
You could play a heavy poke champion, and constantly poke her out because she will have much harder time dodging them than other people and every hit will impact her much more due to her lower base hp. Constantly poke her out and she'll be forced into recalling early or risk going into her egg. Most poke champions have much longer range than Anivia as well, and generally have decent wave clear through out all parts of the game so you could keep your distance from her and poke her out pre level 6. Also because her E is only 650 range, she would have to get very close to you to really use it and her E is the bulk of her damage. Even if she lands a max range Q, she would spend most of the time that you are stunned, just trying to get to you and you'd have enough time to walk away until the chill is gone.
Champions like:

You could play heavy wave clear champions and constantly push her to her tower. Yes Anivia's wave clear is the best in the game but that is only when she is level 6, and her pre level 6 wave clear is actually pretty bad. Because her Q is the 2nd skill maxed, her damage of her Q is nothing to the minions and if you constantly push her to her tower then she will lose a lot of minions to it and be behind which is pretty big for a champion running double stacking mana items. Once she reaches level 6 and her wave clear becomes insane, while she can wave clear better than you it still costs her 3x more mana for her to clear the waves over the other strong wave clear champions. It could take her like 300ish mana to clear a wave with her ultimate, as opposed to Viktor who can press E on a wave and clear it for like 80-120 mana, or Ziggs who can Q + W a wave for like 140 or so mana. The only thing Anivia has over other heavy wave clear champions is that she can leave her ultimate up to clear multiple waves, or Baron minions etc, but again it costs her so much more mana than any other champion.
Champions like:

You can play any Mobile champion (Basically mostly Assassin). While in most champions in this category, you could have a terrible experience pre level 6 against Anivia but once you get level 6 and have your ultimate, you never have to worry about her if you play it right. Anivia relys on either keeping you in her ultimate for 1.5 seconds or landing her easy to dodge Q, and in most cases she will start off by putting the ult under you and putting a wall behind you. If you are a mobile champion, you have 2 choices....you could either just use your escape and jump over the wall making her waste a decent amount of mana and her 17 Second CD wall, or just dash on to Anivia knowing her ult and wall are used. Anivia will then throw out her Q and try to quick stun you and then use E, if you dodge it then you literally kill Anivia without her having any hope left. Even if she lands the stun + E on you, that combo would only deal about 40-50% of your HP (Assuming she isn't super fed at that time, or it's not late game..but this is more for lane phase). Even if you get hit with it, she is down her full combo and all of her abilities. A lot of people I face just back off because they were scared of the damage they just took, but not realized that was everything I could do (besides AA you) for at least 6-8 seconds, so any assassin can easily and effortlessly jump on me and kill me within that period of time.
Champions like:

As for after lane phase, that part really comes up to team fights and how you play them and who is on your side/enemy side. Just know if she has her Egg up, and try to flank her if you are an Assassin or any flanking champion. During fights jump on her and try to force her into her egg (If possible without using as many resources like summoner spells/ults) and then while she is in egg judge the situation at that. If your team is winning hard, then you could spend your time destroying the egg if you feel that Anivia is a much bigger threat than their ADC. If you are losing the fight, it might be best to turn off of her egg and quickly focus their ADC if you can, since taking the time to destroy the egg is giving the enemy's ADC time to kill you all. Obviously if you have enough people next to the egg and you can pop it in under 1-2 seconds, then sure go for it but it's all about knowing if your time would be better spend focusing another target that needs to die. Even if you don't pop her egg, you know it's down for 4 mins so it'll probably be down for the next team fight (Which also applies to fighting Anivia in laning phase).
Also it's best to come from different directions as well...because if the team fight is your team running straight at the enemy team then that makes things easier for Anivia. If you come in from the front and side that will make it much harder for her to decide which side to focus her zoning.

Viktor having more enough waveclear to push Anivia under tower before she hits 6? What are you on. Viktor can only kill casters pre-7 if he CS's perfectly, has a full ap rune page, or get's an influx of extra gold. Viktor might be able to push a single wave under Anivia's tower and then proceed to go oom if he tries to keep up because Anivia has better waveclear while buying a mana item.
I don't know what the hell you've got against Viktor, but the only thing he has going for him in this matchup is his channel interrupt.

You're right I should of separated that point a bit for that section between laning phase and mid/late game. Though Viktor still has stronger wave clear pre level 6 than Anivia, maybe not enough to constantly push minions under her tower, I put Viktor in that section for him having strong wave clear once he gets his E maxed and one or 2 upgrades of his Hex core, where he can press E once and clear an entire wave for like 120 mana which Anivia has to keep her ultimate up for either 3 seconds by itself, or 2 seconds and use her Q...either way it'll cost her like almost 3x as much mana.
I don't have anything against Viktor, I'm just pointing out that there are other champions that have really strong wave clear while not expanding as much mana. People can hate on Anivia for whatever reason they want, but I really get annoyed when people just say "Anivia constantly pushes waves and waves without ever losing mana" or pretending that she is the only mage with a huge amount of wave clear when shes not.
3x as much mana is a gross over exaggeration Anivia's ult is just over 2x at 3 seconds. (Anivia 225 Viktor 110)
Anivia's waveclear is so powerful because it's so safe. Anivia can drop her storm 750 (we'll call it at 650 so she can drop it between the waves) units away, and it will cover the entire wave. Viktor still has to enter 525 units of the enemy melee minions, and can't hit all of them if the minions are assholes about it.
Combine this with the fact that Anivia's lowest range ability is 650 means that if Anivia can farm with just her ult (which she accomplishes with 2X mana items) she can safely force you under tower from the middle of the lane. At least if Viktor does that he doesn't have 200 extra units and two hard CC abilities to escape with in case of a gank
You have to remember her mana costs too though, even when she hits 6 clearing a wave costs about 1/2 her mana
Both have high winrates and I'd enjoy mages not being broken.
If they ever touch malz again it should be his passive, everything else is fine as is just get rid of the free spellshield and give him something else.
The spell shield blows, anyone can now buy an item which does the exact same thing on a lower cooldown
There is not a single point in the game where banshee's veil has a shorter cooldown than his passive even at the beginning of the game at 30 seconds. Banshee's veil is 40 seconds flat throughout the entire game.
His passive is at 12 seconds to max rank. At level 1 it is 30, 10 seconds less than banshees. Also it doesnt block just one ability. During .25 seconds after hit, he can still block everything that hits him until .25 seconds is over. This is very useful if multiple people try to hit you at the same time since everything is blocked. The only downside is he gets 90% damage reduction and can be procd by just autoing (which is literally only bad in the early game when you would rather block an ability).
He can also get 2 spell shields since you can also buy banshees on him and it isnt even detrimental since you get ap cdr and mr.
There is only 1 main thing that makes his passive worse than banshees. The passive is strong and you can not deny it.
I really wish I could go back and laugh at all these people complaining about how Midlane Malz is soooooo UP after the rework. The funny thing is that he used to have an extremely good winrate back then aswell, people just complained because nobody realized how OP he was.
If you mean when he was first reworked in 6.9, im pretty sure everyone realized he was op. The first game I played on that patch i was matched up vs malzahar in mid. It was brutal. People also instantly realized he was a broken jungler.
He was only considered shit or UP when he got nerfed. Then people realized he was op in the support role soon after. Only after that he was considered really bad since he was a shit midlaner and a shitty support. After they reverted the nerfs that forced him into support he was considered op again (which is right now).
Speaking as someone who plays
and
mid, a good Malzahar is the most annoying shit ever. A bad one is freelo.
Anivia is cancer no matter her skill level. Way too much freaking damage lol
Are you actually kidding? What is the difference between a good and a bad malz? He will press R on you and voila, you're done At least a good anivia is clean to see, even if yh, she does hurt but she did not receive any up on her damage ; she even lost some at her mini rework.
A good Malz knows how to continue his visions. Making it damn near impossible for Ryze or Morde to get close to him. A bad one has no idea how to do that.
A good malz will save his silence for your channels, or your stronger abilities. A bad one will just try to spam it. (and miss)
A good malz knows when to use his summon to add additional pressure. A bad one does not, he'll just spam them and then complain that they are useless.
A bad malz can do well with his ultimate. A good malz can do incredible things with his ult.
If you can't see the difference, maybe you're not paying attention. Anivia is the same way, but a bad Anivia will still deal crazy damage if she's got her computer monitor turned off.
Wouldn't a bad anivia just miss her Q, place her ultimate in a lackluster position, gimp her damage by using a non empowered E and then finally troll her team by misplacing her wall
Here's a thought. Stay out of range!

As a Malzahar player, fuck Ori.
i hope that after world, when balance returns to plat+ you will nerf
Anivia needs a nerf?
Lol what?
Ok some people will not agree with me on this but i really think Malz ult is ridiculous now. It doesn't matter in the least bit who you ult anymore cause the laser has its own damage and very high AP scaling plus max hp damage per second. It so annoying that as long as he ults at all in team fights your very likely to win cause his ult e late one shots squishy champs. I'm not making this up. He doesn't even need to q or w. you might say just buy QSS but if you are a mage or support late game you wont have room for a QSS you ll need much more important items, its the same thing with tanks. The only people on the team who should have the full item, Scimitar would be fighters/divers assassins or ad carries. I think they should
You still should w in your combo late game. Recently ive been playing him a lot and if you ewr you can guarantee a kill on a squishy. But your point still stands that he does too much damage. Even just er does a shit ton of damage, just not quite a oneshot.
It's pretty funny how champs with win rates above 52% aren't getting nerfed while champs at a 50% win rate
and a 47% win rate
are getting nerfed cause they are played too much.
Winrate isnt everything.
I also hate
with a burning passion.
I'm just not sure she is due for a nerf yet. Honestly I don't think any change to her kit will make her NOT cancer to play against.
Rito is deflating the balls
malzahar OP in what regard? mindlessly shoving the wave? plenty of champions can do that, he lacks when it comes to damage if you can CC or qss his ult
his damage cannot be QQS'ed, only the cc can be and that since 1 month
Cause it's fucking stupid for anyone to be able to negate a champs entire ult, and his voidlings die extremely easy from any aoe spell
