Duskblade got nerfed, assassins got buffed....but

I know I'm going to get downvoted but I just want to point this out.

I'm not saying assassins didn't need the buffs, but it kinda seems unfair because when Rylies was literally gutted, riot didn't buff any mages, not even mord.

I just wanted to point this out as it kinda shows riots favoritism to AD champs.

Rylais was causing everyone to over perform. Duskblade was the only thing keeping it's users somewhat viable. Rylais was (supposed to be) a niche item. Duskblade is a 100% essential core item for it's users.

Mage's are fine. I really don't get this whole "Rito hates AP" crap right after they got a great massive overhaul.

Rylai’s wasn’t a requirement to build to be viable. It was an item that gave mages too much of just about everything they wanted. Health, huge AP, every CC on everything they cast. Duskblade is currently a requirement on assassins. You used to be so creative with assassin builds and could do different things. Now, without duskblade, you simply don’t have the burst to kill anyone with the amount of shields, heals, and damage reduction in the game. Remember that duskblade was a response to bullshit items such as phantom dancer and death’s dance, further extending to redemption, knights vow. But if champions are forced to build an item or they just can’t function, then you know the champion/class has a problem. Hence nerfing the item and buffing the class.

Rylais wasn't as intergral for most mages as duskblade, and it wasn't a flat out nerf as it's costs got reduced alot and the slow barely changed for dot/minions. So Brand for example recived the same utillity earlyer in the game at the cost of some lategame ap. Most other APs had enough other items to fall back on, like Luden's which replaced rylais on some like orianna and syndra. The nerfs to rylais didn't have much impact on the performace of mages overall.

For assasins however, raw burst is intergral for their efficiency, their entier damage is balanced around haveing that proc on top. and duskblade gets barly any compensation for the damage it looses, while assasins also have no alternative items to built instead. They lack the fallback options that mages had both in playstyle and items.
