Make Shen's Ultimate into something that deals damage

Shen's ultimate is not a Tank ultimate. When this ultimate was made, there was a do-able 2 person top kind-of thing. Now, 2 top is not only rare but something frowned upon by most players. Shen top is do-able and can be fun, but it is also harder than learning to play Renekton or Riven. I can even do more as Trundle or Garen. I'm not asking Shen mains to look at this with approval but I am asking how better it would be to have that one ultimate ready to use that can do some extra damage if needed.

Shen's ultimate now is best used when supporting. If my ADC is ever being ganked, I use my ultimate to shield the ADC from either some or majority of the damage.

A Riot had recently posted a thread on Shen's power. I find it true yet hard to cope with. Blitzcrank and Braum are right now right there with Shen in power but with damaging ultimates. You need not tell of how powerful Shen can be when we already know this and then you look at his average pick rate in general (looking at ranked, normal, dominion, twisted treeline, and other game modes).

It was also discussed on Assassin/Tanks, and how they are too powerful for this game. I don't think they look too much into what they do to this game, in my opinion. I have 1 example of champions that show, or are, assassin(s) personalities.

Kassadin isn't the first to be thought of as a Tank. Yet, the loss of most of his mobility and damage left him with only 1 option; to get a lot of Health and Mana. Sure, his Q deals some damage, but it is also a sustain that gives a "mana" shield. His W is also a sustain. And his E deals a tiny more than the Q with a 1 second slow. He is mostly built now to be a Tank with an assassin's ultimate. Yet, is it possible to play Kassadin with pure AP and mana? Yes, absolutely. (It is also contemplated to just make all abilities viable from mana.)

They have said that they would like to take power away from the Q and E and put it somewhere else on Shen. But, where? His ultimate has enough sustain, as well as his W. Will it go to his passive? I also want to know why Shen can't have power? I want to know why Shen can't have an ultimate like Pantheons where he teleports to a target location and not only activates his passive but makes the passive twice as strong.

Now, I don't know if this will make Shen more of a Assassin or not, but I would like it better than a ultimate that does nothing for Shen.

...The entire point of his ultimate is it teleports a tank with a taunt + shield directly to whoever is being attacked. You don't use it just for the shield, you use it mainly for the global teleport and pressure (Oh, shen is splitpushing top. Let's send someone to stop him and-nope he teleported into the teamfight).

Lol, the could give his ult a passive that helps with his landing phase. Bamb there! Problem solved :)

So you want Shen to lose the one thing that more than anything else defines who he is, the big global shield tp.... that strikes me as a bad idea.

He has a supportive ult because he is a supportive tank. He's not an assassin/fighter like pantheon. His goals are not the same and he does not need the same ultimate. Let Shen be Shen and go play Pantheon instead if that's who you want to play.

Yet, the loss of most of his mobility and damage left him with only 1 option; to get a lot of Health and Mana.

He generally builds Rod of Ages into straight AP. This isn't exactly getting a lot of health and mana. He's still built and played pretty much as a straight assassin, with the mana ratios being mostly ignored.

Sure, his Q deals some damage, but it is also a sustain that gives a "mana" shield.

It's not sustain, it's a shield, and it doesn't interact with mana in any way. It's a magic shield, not a mana shield.
