Kalista is basically Ashe on Steroids
Thresh is basically Blitz on Steroids
Zed is basically Talon or Akali on Steroids
Yasuo is basically Yi or Gangplank on Steroids
Darius is basically Garen on Steroids (well at least he was before the nerf)
In general, CertainlyT champs are basically OP
Unlike Master Yi, however, Yasuo actually has skillshots. He deserves to be rewarded for landing them.
No, he really doesn't
I understand why you would think that tho, Riot thought the same about 4 years ago in Season 1~2 when Ezreal was released
You see he was the first all skillshot champion, so they felt that since he had such a crazy high skill cap, that all his abilities should be crazy strong!
What they slowly and eventually discovered is that skillshot in general are already incredibly strong without the need for it to be stronger than targeted abilities, actually taking a step further... In most cases skillshots due to their longer range are actually weaker than targeted abilities.
So to recap
Skillshots should be longer range, mana cheaper and slightly lower cooldown than targetted abilities, but they really do not need to be higher damage. Matter of fact they should be lower damage than targeted abilities.
Okay, first of all, the range on Ezreal's skillshots is MUCH longer than Yasuo's. An opponent can be pretty far from Ezreal, but he can still hit them. The range on Yasuo's 'q' is very short (granted, his knockup does have decent distance). HOWEVER, in order to get his knockup, he has to land his 'q' three times in a row. If he missed even once, that counter goes back to zero. If you let him hit you that many times with his 'q', you deserve to be ulted by him (assuming he lands his knockup as well). So, in conclusion, Yasuo has to land 4 skillshots in a row to do any meaningful damage. He is extremely high skillcap, and most people fail to play him correctly (if you lolking champions he has the second lowest winrate), but when he is played correctly he is very rewarding.
