Lich Bane costs too much gold

Title.

The only argument against this is the gold value of it's passive (And maybe it becoming part of a culmination of events that makes the Fish Yordle meta), but lots of other items with damaging passives (that do more damage btw) are over 90% gold efficient.

Gold Value 80 ability power = Gold 1740 10% cooldown reduction = Gold 266.67 250 mana = Gold 350 7% movement speed = Gold 276.5 Total Gold Value = Gold 2633.17

Cost: 3200

I'd like to see Lich at more the 2700 gold - 2900 gold mark. 3200 just makes the item garbage, it also forces champs that use it into negative winrates as they hit their item powerspikes later on, which is unnecessary. I also want it in that range so it can be a high tier support item. I feel like the high price takes away a lot of possibilities from the support role.

I would disagree with you, the item is incredibly strong. I rush it on Sona and by the time i get it im melting the adc giving to me sooner wouldn't be fair to the other team.

It really would. Lich costs you 3200 gold, so you probably have lich, frostfang and sorc shoes at 20min. That's awful. Consider you could have frostfang, ardent and athenes instead at roughly the same time, probably do more damage and be way more useful.

If you snowball and gold is no object because you ks and put your adc behind so you can carry on Lich sona, go ahead. If that's how you win, power to you.

It's just a really bad path to go on Sona imo.

Who dafuq buys boots on sona? I never ks my adc ever when im hitting for 40% dmg per passive combo and when i all in melt the adc im assisting my team. My adc gets to free farm, the enemies adc misses out on both exp and cs which puts thm behind. and late game when i have my 700ap stat ill be healing for so fucken much. Then again I play 1300MMR adcs at this MMR are to braindead to do anything best if i carry them.

Most players buy boots on her (Even you lol)? item 3117 item 3158 item 3020 I know that she has a MS buff, the reason pros don't build them is because most pros opt to build item 3003 on her as it's so gold efficient. The sooner you get Archangels the sooner you get the +8 mana per ability, so they put all their gold into archangels. If you're going Lich or Enchanter though you really can't do without boots as Sona is immobile and maxes E last.

After you hit the Lich powerspike at 17min? you're really vulnerable to all ins and losing trades before that point, which is most of the laning phase. Your ADC does not get free farm.

I challenge you to show me a game where you have 700 AP on Sona. You had one game that lasted 38minutes where you got a penta kill and carried but even that game you only had 606 AP from items and runes.

It's really not your job, and isn't an optimal way to play support. Bot lane will do way more damage if your actions as a support allow your adc to deal damage.

I've noticed you like to go AP Sona and build along the lines of: item 3098 item 3100 item 3905 item 3089 item 1001 And you know... if you win lane because you happen to not get all inned, it's not a terrible. Your blue chords will deal damage and you'll be useful. It's just that these items are so terrible for gold efficiency. I get that you get a Deathcap which makes those other items okay, but that's a 3rd item that costs 3600 gold, you should never really get to completing that item.

You can get item 3048 which is 140% gold efficient and gives loads of AP and then probably get Ludens which would be way more oppressive and gold efficient than Lich... but I guess you can just carry on rollin on with your build and not come across many problems.

Lich doesn't feel like a satisying item to build(especially not rush) on a majority of AP champs. Pretty much the only ones i ever see build it nowadays is Fizz Evelynn Sona and maybe Diana , and thats mostly because of how well they synergy with the item. I have it recommended on champions it doesn't make sense to build on and can easily be a noob trap item.

i mean item 3100 is the first damn item i buy after i finish my jungle items in damn near every game, unless they have a extremly AD heavy team is it would be more effcient to get item 3157 first before lich bane...

NO, why on earth would you touch an item that is balanced.

is a VERY good niche picks on many champions.. yet it breaks none of them and yet for all fo the shitstorm of the past 3 seasons, has remained perfectly balance and has literally not been touched since patch 5.22

The item is garbage in gold efficiency compared to:

Other sheen items Hextech items Ludens

Infact, if Lich didn't give the 7% move speed it wouldn't even be an item you should consider rushing 2nd in the jgl because other AP items would just be far superior.

It's a weak item for the gold cost, that is simply fact.

2700 - 2900 gold sounds a bit too low.

I'd be fine with 3000 gold though (a 200 gold reduction).

Would be nice, I usually end up with that awkward amount of gold where I am about 200 ish short and sitting with the 3 components in my inventory, doubt they would reduce the price though, a lot of the champs that use it seem to be in a pretty strong state right now as is.

Yeah and the other items that aren't Sheen aren't very flexible either to build. Once you build Aether Wisp it seems like you're locked into Lich Bane unless you really want to build into off-support with Twin Shadows or Shurelya's Reverie.

I wouldn't say Spellbinder is in good spot right now either. Since both items aren't very flexible either.
