Is there a reason why we STILL cant show CHAMPION names?

With all these skins in the game its sometimes hard to recognize who is who in a teamfight with dozens of spell effects where you have 0,5 second to decide who to CC and who to focus.

Would be nice if one could activate champion names instead of summoner names.

Ofc I can make a difference between a Blitzcrank and a Fiddlesticks. But sometimes champions (and their skins) look pretty similar, especially the human assassin's and ADCs. And when you in the middle of a teamfight you don't have the time to look closely. You have to react immediately. Even 0,3 seconds can make the difference.

While experience and research helps. This would be a good addition to the game. Especially for those without a database of char skins and particle effects in the back of their heads.

ye... but even if there are no skins in the match sometimes it can be very hard to keep the overview in a teamfight.

Why can i see summoner names but not champion names?

I have been playing for long enought so this isnt a problem for me,but it would be great for newer players. And there also should be a way to see champion skills ingame.

I'd support this.

Wasn't this a thing before though? I remember being able to change to champ names whenever I was doing VODs. I don't see the option to anymore. Used to be "Display Champion Name" as a toggle by "Show summoner name" unless its spectator client only.

Skins have become more creative lately, sacrificing distinguishing features for, admittedly, awesomeness.

I've been playing for a while now and even I have caught myself mistaking Yi for Lucian and vice versa recently.

why not just alow it anyway? If there are people who need more overview why not give it to them? Also it depend what role you play. With ADC you have usually more overview as a diver who is right in the middle of the chaos.

It shows the champion and the skin they are wearing in the load screen. That alone should be enough for you to say "oh okay that's this person" when you see them in game. If you can't recognize which champion is which based off of their attack/abilities/walk cycle/voice/ect, then I'm really not sure what to tell you.

Dude the skins are just one example. Champion Names would just improve the overview for the player in heavy teamfights. Sometimes you can't even see the champions anymore because of the particle and spell effects. Champion Names would make this game so much more pleasant.

I don't understand why people like you are so against this. You don't have to activate it if you don't want.

I just don't see the issue that you're bringing up, nor do I see why having a tiny ass name that you can barely read there is going to solve it.
