"Our mana regeneration nerfs hurt Ziggs in particular so we're going to buff his costs."
YOU EXPLICITLY NERFED MANA REGENERATION FOR THE SINGULAR PURPOSE OF NERFING INFINITE WAVECLEAR.
Unlike Tear of the Goddess, Chalice 'turns on' (ie: accesses a majority of its power) very early as a purchase, giving both defensive stats and piles of mana regeneration to safely push / farm. As a result, most mid-laners who don't want to deal with mana problems (or interacting with their opponent) can just rush a Chalice before figuring out the rest of their items.
SOURCE
I don't even. I can't even.
You fucked over EVERY MAGE and MOST SUPPORTS with this "update" to mana regeneration, infinite waveclear or not, and then your FIRST COMPENSATION BUFF goes to THE ONE IRRITATING LITTLE SHIT WHO ABUSED IT THE MOST.
Rather than saying "well shit, all those minefield buffs we piled on Ziggs that time seem to have overshot, maybe we should scale those back", you instead decided "you know who needs a slightly larger boot on their neck? ALL MAGES". Then, when champs like Orianna or Lux got to spend their first 880 gold on an item to let them just stay in lane for a while, their opponent Zed or Katarina or Riven gets to come back with a vamp scepter (or whatever) to directly counter it. Balance! Except no, the scales weren't tipped in favor of energy/resourceless (same thing) champs enough, so you fucked over all the mages and traditional supports AGAIN, most of whom are also immobile in the League of Gapclosers but let's focus on one monumental fuckup at a time.
AND THEN YOU BUFF THE ONE REASON YOU DID IT IN THE FIRST PLACE.
It's great that you've made Grail suck less but that doesn't help the actual issue, especially when you have to build Zhonya's first because Zed is "balanced". Who in the hell is running things over there? I know that actual 100% balance is unachievable but you're still supposed to try for it, and you certainly aren't supposed to just throw entire classes under convenient buses like you've been doing! ~Uiru
