This new 10 ban system won't be as bad as some of you may think (yes, even for high elo).
Will there be duplicate bans?
Yes. That is an unavoidable feature of this, but I suspect it will only happen alot for the first month or 2.
This is because, eventually, people will figure out that there can be some mind games played with this system.
Take this for example: You might say to yourself "
needs to be banned, but I really don't want to play against
. Well, chances are the other team may ban Lee anyway, so I'll ban Malz." You end up banning Malz, and it turns out the rest of your team has the same mentality, banning champs that they would rather not play against, instead of banning the meta champs.
Then, it turns out the enemy team also had the same mentality, and, all of sudden, Lee is up for grabs.
Of course, some people may choose a certain meta champ that they simply don't want to play against, and ban them every time they go into a game, which is fine, that's their choice. But if a champ is meta, they'll actually have a slightly lower chance of not being banned due to this exact scenario.
All I'm trying to say is test it before you bash it. Remember how everyone was blasting Riot about plants? Yet, when they were implemented into the game, they made a minimal impact, and, everyone eventually learned how to work with and around them. Now, they're a part of the game in the same way that jungle creep, and elemental drakes are.
I can say with 95% certainty that the same exact thing will happen for this new ban system.
