So you know you're having a lag spike and your in a game... what do you do?

my first two years of playing league i NEVER got any lag of any kind

but during season 6 i have randomly been getting lag spikes.

no change to my internet or anything

luckily i was in an unranked game when this happened... luckily i was jungling so i could just farm the camps and not gank while my ping was high, and luckily every single one of my lanes was "legendary".

but for the times when I'm NOT this lucky. when I'm NOT playing jungle when my team IS badly losing and when I'm playing ranked

what should i do doing my lag spike?

because.. as much as i love and after maining her for 3 years i consider myself pretty darn good at landing spears. i its pretty much impossible to land one.. get in.. and get out.. with a 300ms delay...

I would advise to stay under tower and try to get whatever farm you can, inform your team that you are lagging and to play as safe as they can, and if they do group up (where there's vision) you should join them because even if you can't really control what will happen if a teamfight breaks out, your presence there and whatever skillshots or abilities you ARE able to use might turn the tide of the teamfight, and if you get killed before you can do anything I personally think that it's slightly better than sitting in base and possibly getting a leaverbuster for it.

Also you should try to identify the source of your lag between really bad spikes/deaths because sometimes it's a simple fix (like an app downloading on your phone or in the background on your computer) and anything that you can think could possibly give you lag, close it down and hope it helps

Hey there, sorry you're having these issues. For connection related problems please head over to the Connection Troubleshooting Log Reader. There, you can submit the Network logs from your match(es) and the log reader will show if you were having ping spikes and packet loss.

It will then will direct you to solutions. Please work through the solutions it suggests, and if you need assistance or they do not work post on the Help & Support board and we'll try to help. You can also narrow down the source of latency or packet loss by downloading the WinMTR Network Diagnostic Tool, then use that to run a traceroute to the following IP (allow this to run for 5-15 minutes);
