I know that communication is an advantage and all but can matchmaking not give the enemy such a huge rank difference. It makes playing with your friends so unfun because you can never seem to match the opponent.

No, I am gold both my brothers are both bronze. We keep getting matched against teams that are like 4 gold+ 1 silver, it's impossible to win.

That's the problem sadly your mmr is so vast that the game pulls players from a wide skill gaps.
Make a new account and get it placed in bronze climb with them you will have very healthy games.
