Because it essentially stuns him while he is using it. He cannot move, he cannot cast spells, he cannot auto attack, he is at the complete mercy of anyone on your team who was not hit by it.

Right, Galio is actually guaranteed to take damage from everyone caught in his ult on top of everyone outside of it

malzahar, invulnerability passive can help him survive it. this is one of two that actually might have some merit. Vel'koz AOE true damage(or at the least AOE magic damage that will become true damage) WW, well you do have a good point on this one too, but WW usually builds heavy tank while yasuo does not. Urgot, damage reduction and AOE fear. Not to mention you switch places with an enemy Shen, do i have to fucking comment on this one? Yasuo's ult and shen's ultimate are radically different. MF, huge AOE damage Lux, huge AOE damage. Add a good passive proc and you can one shot a lot of squishies Karthus. Yeah cause Yasuo revives for 7 seconds and his ultimate is global jhin. vastly larger range and a lot more damage than a yasuo ultimate. Galio, AOE taunt that can deal insane damage.

Not to mention that none of these ultimates have any conditions for them to be used, or if they have a condition it only empowers the ultimate. It's honestly kind of pathetic that you compare Karthus and Yasuo's ultimates
