Remember that tower 'buff'?

Wasn't average game time 30 minutes before that +300 hp tower buff went through? Seems like the +10% damage from minions was actually a bigger nerf than the hp was a buff.

I can't find the exact Riot numbers so someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Why would the minion damage increase with 300+ hp on a tower even be a buff, especially if its a 10% increase on minion damage. My brain hurts

But hey, with that 300 health boost, towers take an extra TWO WHOLE AUTOS to destroy!

Kaeblen12/3/2017, 2:32:37 AM12 votes

yeah... if that wasn't obvious just from reading it, I'm terribly sorry. +10% from a consistent damage source is a pretty serious thing.

who was it that claimed this was a "buff" to towers? I hope it wasn't a Rioter...

phreak ran some numbers on it in his patch overview. i think it was, if the damage split is 50/50 champs/minions it's a net 0 change, If damage is more champs then it's a buff to towers, if it's more minions then it's a nerf.

Basically, dedicated pushes should be a bit slower (not really by much tbh), minions passively crashing into the towers should do more.

It's a lot more complicated and situational than it looks, but it really doesn't seem to have changed much in the grand scheme of things. Dedicated pushes will still work like they always have, so the tower takes an extra auto, big deal. Rift herald is still stupid, and now if the enemy pushes a wave and recalls, or is a tank/wave clear champion that doesn't do much damage to towers by itself, then the tower will die faster.

I distinctly remember the average game time (In plat, at least) being 27 minutes RIGHT before the patch hit. So yes, games have gotten shorter for sure, at least in plat elo. I predicted this in my other post, but people just told me "Oh it's fine, they're tankier earlier game lol"

=| ...........sure they are.

Riot drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrop! The ball on this one.

I'm fine with T1 and T2 being squishy as currently. But something must be done about Nexus turrets at least, and maybe even T3 Turrets. For nexus, I would say more tankiness to withstand a tad more a last push, and for T3 some damage would be great.

Anyways, I played a lot of Tryndamere and I must say for such a splipusher as Tryndamere the 300 HP were an UP to Turret, but I guess for most tank split pusher (Shen) it's actually a nerf to turret as they work a lot more with minions to push.

It was... It was actually 33 minutes...

Riot doesn't know what Buff means since Morello isn't in charge anymore. He at least knew what Buff and Nerf meant.
Miss you Nerf Master Suck Town! [sg-janna]

you're entirely right , what happens now , is botlane with hard poke , freezing insane minion wave , forcing ennemy out of the lane taking tower even earlier , and then snowball and BREH . Technically the total dmges from minions to towers was increased by 20 % : on their 100 % they did 50 , now they do 60 , but 10 is 20 % of 50 , which means the dmges they do now compared to last patch was increased by 20 % to towers and not just 10 % ( even if its 10 % of the total dmges they could possibly do , this is a 20 % dmges buff to towers ) . 300 hp isnt a whole lot compared to that . This makes the meta even more botlane oriented but in a somehow more cancer way .

I'm not sure really, plenty of people were calling it a nerf before it went through but Riot still called it a buff. I did some quick estimating myself and the minions should out damage the full 3300 hp buff after 15 - 20 minutes. So any minion damage after that area should just be a net nerf (causing shorter games).

The answer is because Riot thinks we are as stupid as they are.

My question is did they add in the +25 MS to minions? If so why isn't it in the patch notes.

Mysticman8912/3/2017, 4:01:19 AM1 votes

Exact riot number (unsure if it's all ranked games, or all games, or all ranked games above a certain elo, or what) was given by meddler in one of his thoughts threads in dev corner. I seem to recall it being 29:XX minutes, but if it actually matters you know where to look now.

LostFr0st12/3/2017, 5:12:31 AM1 votes

If we account for the earlier minion spawn time the two patches are probably identical.

Solidair312/3/2017, 3:14:17 PM1 votes

30 minutes sounds high, I thought Meddler had told us it was like 28 or something
