Is this typical for chargeback bans?

My cousin was banned for a chargeback shortly after (like 2 days after) recovering his account for being compromised. The only people who have purchased him rp are his parents and I. Neither of us have issued a chargeback and Riot is holding the account hostage without providing any details of what the rp was used for without paying $5 and sending in a letter because "the information you are requesting is difficult to pull up".

The funny thing is we could see this information if we could log into the account since it was in the last 3 months, but Riot apparently can't access this information without us paying for it.

What might have happened is the person who stole the account bought some RP (possibly to gift something to themselves), then when they got kicked from the account they charged back the purchase. Ask Support if they can validate when the purchase that was charged back was made and see if it lines up with when the account was compromised.

its honestly just $5 does it really matter you earn over 15000% of that a month just pay them so you can get another diamond border :) you have enough time to climb through plat i know you can do it you did it last season

Was probably whoever took the account. I hope you're able to get his account back back (I know you'll spend $5 you seem like a good person) and I hope they find where the issue lies. If it's a chargeback from the thief, I'm positive Riot will unban him.

you might want to try the help and support forum instead and clearly explain your situation.

Broporo / Porocles may not be able to help you directly, but they can point to the proper personnelle to check whether there has been signs of account compromise or authorized use of RP.

You can get more information on that fee on the privacy page, which is where you can find the total amount that you have paid on the account as well as some other info. Part of what that covers is individual purchases I believe.
