Are you joking right now, riot?

So tonight I went from 0 lp, to 70, on my own, carried, feel free to check my match history, completely stomped team after team trying my hardest to climb. Then I'm like "ill play one more so I can be one away from promos when I play again" A bronze 4 lux support. I'm silver 5. And while that may seem like not THAT big of a deal. I promise you it showed drastically when she went 0/5 in less than 10 minutes against a silver 5 bot lane. While I understand when you are on a winning streak, you get lower mmr players to "even out" your mrr or whatever bullshit excuse they have. It isn't fair to the player. I am expected to win lane, win another laner and another and then team fight? My god that's trash. instead of putting us with shitty players, put us against, HIGHER players if we are on a win streak. To affirm 1) if we are actually ready to move on to the next division and 2) See what the next division is like difficulty wise.

This is a game where you are rewarded for playing poorly with stronger allies/weaker enemies, and punished for performing well with lower skilled allies/stronger enemies. Riot calls this "balance" and I don't understand why. Trying to even out a 50/50 win rate for each team in every game is the literal definition of removing skill from the equation. Good players should win more games then bad players. Performance should reflex personal skill.

the faster you climb in mmr, the more the system tries to compensate by putting lower mmr teammates on your team.

it always tries to create a team of average mmr for the rank youre playing at. if youre playing at silver, its probably around 1200. and since your mmr can increase and decrease much faster than your actual rank, it leads to dumb situations like this.

you climb through your division on a win streak and your mmr increases above your current rank. as a result youre matched with lower mmr teammates to keep your team mmr at around 1200. usually against a team whos actually in skill level at the current rank youre playing at.

so youre probably going to do fine, but the rest of your team is going to get stomped, and you eventually lose the game.

you can see that this is an actual thing, if you go to external sites and check the mmr of your team and your teammates. the only value thats important for the matchmaking system is team mmr of both teams. not the mmr of individual players. there is a limit to how far apart the mmr between teammates on the same team can be. but its usually too high.

I feel it. I was doing good, finally back on track... these last few games have just been hell.

This would actually explain my recent loosing streak. Obviously, I haven't been checking the numbers but it seems like a worthy hypothesis. I climbed from b5 to b1 in roughly a month to two months. I was on a huge climb. Now, I did have my losses so it wasn't a single winning streak but it was still a really good win rate and I was climbing really fast. Now, just a few days ago, I noticed a drastic increase on bad players on my teams, so much so that I dropped a division. Admittedly I didn't do well myself in all of those games, but in most of them I was atleast commanding some kill pressure while my team wasn't. I'm still trying to climb back into b2, but it doesn't help how the system literally works against you when you are trying to climb.

Putting you with higher elo players means they get a comparatively bad player (aka you) on their team. So you'd be ruining their games instead.

And his point holds true for someone else, from their perspective.

If you let it ride after winning 5 in a row, you accept the results.
