Why does Jinx's rockets have to do 110% damage AND have her AOE crit?
Isn't the 650 range AOE damage enough?!?
Isn't the 650 range AOE damage enough?!?
Because she has the 4th lowest attack speed at level 18 of any champion in the game while using rockets. Also, the 10% extra damage is on hit, so it cannot crit. She is also supposed to be a strong auto attacking champion.
Seriously, why do people complain about what is supposed to be strong on a champion. You can complain about Jinx being too strong (she is), but the way you go about balancing is not just nerfing something you see in the tooltip. You look at what you want her to be able to do well, and where you want her to be weaker, and nerf accordingly. Sometimes that means looking at base stats that you don't see in the tool tip. If you haven't noticed, Riot likes keeping strengths strong when nerfing as well as making sure the champion still has the feel they want. Rockets are supposed to do a lot of damage per hit at the expense of having a very slow attack speed (compared to other adcs).
TL:DR Nerf her attack speed instead, maybe buff mini gun attack speed steroid to focus the nerf on rockets only.
Yeah if Q was her 'strongest' thing then I'd agree
But the rest of her Kit is a long stronger than other ADCs too.
Her other abilities have good utility and work very will with her auto attacks, but they do not provide much damage. The lazer takes too long to fire, which cuts into aa time. And the chompers don't do much damage. The ultimate is a lot of damage, but it's a long cooldown. Giving graves Jinx's w,e, and r but keeping his q would make him suck.
stop crying and play the game trash
Just be thankful Hurricane never worked with Q Rockets.

I tested it in a custom game and it works.
It does work, and I can't believe sheeple don't realize it
Late game you sell boots for runaans GG triple crit 3k dmg AA

the side bolts cant crit, its why no one buys it
The side bolts produce AoE and the AoE can crit.
It does not. I played a lot of Jinx last season. AoE is an AA modifier that can crit, yes, but bolts can't crit under any circumstances.
Saying that +120% AD AoE is a bad choice, is pretty silly, though.
Same reason why they cost mana to use as an autoattack.
700 range*
And yeah, that skill needs some serious nerfs, IMO is the best skill an ADC could wish
Jinx has 700 Range with her Rockets not 650... Yay for balance!
There needs to be enough to justify using both Jinx's minigun and her rocket launcher.
The choice the player needs to make is to have more single-target DPS with her minigun at the expense of range, or have AoE from a longer range, but have lower overall DPS and spend mana to do it.
Everything that each weapon does is to make the decision to use each of her weapons distinct enough for each to be used in different circumstances, instead of having no choices of which gun to use because one is strictly better.
The overall DPS is around the same. You're telling me that a rocket that AOE crits two additional people is less DPS just because it does not have much AS as she does with minigun?? Attack Speed =/= how much damage you will be able to apply.
There is no meaningful thought when using minigun and rockets. Its very simple. Teamfight, use rockets, 2v2 skirmish use minigun
I meant single target DPS.
You won't get any value out of Jinx's rocket launcher if you aren't hitting more than one person or if you don't have mana to use it. Likewise, you won't get any value out of Jinx's minigun if you aren't in range to use it. Good Jinx players need to understand when to switch weapons, whether it is the laning phase, small skirmishes, full-on teamfights, or even just taking objectives, because their strengths and weaknesses are going to be useful at different time periods.
AND have crit? As if Ashe's passive has a downside. Crit chance is changed into %dmg amp which is the same but without RNG factor. Ashe crits on every hit (assuming that you start with volley to apply frost) which triggers the mastery to give her AS up to 15%. Cast ult on your enemies on any moment while farming and GG you have secured a free kill because on top of the most CC, Ashe has the highest DPS of all ADCs.
I agree with the crit, though. I think Jinx is fine (just needs some tuning, tbh), but having aoe crits is enough.
Thing is, that's her waveclear ability so I get 110% damage. Yeah, fair enough. The crit, however, really ups her dps and takes away her downside of having the low base AS of her class, which is made up for by boosted AS on her Q which requires her being up close and dangerous.
Now, I don't think that's fair at a balancing point. Crit rockets keep her dps high during a teamfight and keep her safe, when they should be her main poke (as in safely) at a lower dps (because a true poke is short of a trade, yet continuous poke isn't fair if she isn't in range to retaliate). If she wants dps, she needs to get up close with her Q. I get that she needs that high steroid because she doesn't have Graves's burst or Vayne's monstrous dueling potential, she's the optimal AS adc for taking towers and shit.
Anyway, my point is that both forms of her Q make up for each other's weaknesses and her own weaknesses a bit too much, and this is coming from someone who thinks she's ok. We can't hit her Q AS too much, we can't hit her rocket damage too much, but goddamn can we remove the rocket crits? I never cared for them, I never whined about them too much, but what's the point of her Q passive in teamfights if she can make up the dps (and then some) with some crits? It's an empowered autoattack, let the main target crit but not the splash damage. Kind of like Crescent on Hydra.
