The term STAT CHECKING needs to be a bannable phrase on these boards

Because it's almost never used correctly. The term stat checking has become synonymous with champions who have the capacity to outplay skill shots or melee champions: I.E "Vayne is a stat checker because she can kill tanks!!" No, she's not. And yes, she's anti melee. I'm sorry bruiser players, we cannot duel everything. That doesn't make her a stat checker, especially considering mages with targeted burst ruin her.

Stat checkers are champions who simply lack any real gameplay and rely on simply having better stats than their opponents to win. Some examples are Trundle, Rammus and like 60% of Irelia/Jax/Nasus kits. The reason why I mention the ladder three is because they aren't exclusive in this sense, many champions have "stat-checking abilities" but still have a great deal of gameplay around them despite these qualities. That doesn't make them stat checkers, that typically just makes them mechanically simple but those two things are not mutually exclusive.

If you really detest stat checkers, that's totally fine. I think most people can deduct that trundles design is actually retarded. However, don't mislabel something because you don't like it. Back to our previous example: Vayne is not a stat checker. She's anti-melee, polarizing and annoying. But she's not a stat checker and her design is fine. Just because you either suck and can't deal with her short range or you simply hate her kit by virtue of its existence isn't sufficient enough to qualify her as a stat checker.

I thank you for this time and anybody who disagrees will be subjugated by yours truly.

For real though doesn't every champion stat check if you want to be realistic about it? ADC's stat check you with shit tons of AD. Mages stat check you with shit tons of AP, ect. Champions can stat check you with items or by the very nature of their kits but they all do it, but get there in a different way. So IMHO this theory of , stat checking, is an excuse for getting out played for a poor decision.

In all reality we have high micro play champs and high macro play champs. The high micro players tend to have complex kit designs that forces the user to be more focused on their champs skill expression b/c miss timed abilities often mean you are dead. Where as champion that are more simple do not have to focus on how they use their abilities as much as where to use them meaning they have a higher macro game agency to be aware of. Nasus and Trundle fall into this where they can absolutely obliterate their opponent in lane but if they fail to use their power on the map they run a high chance of losing the game regardless.

I rarely see Vayne's and when I do they are rarely an issue unless they are mains who are exceptional at positioning. It all boils down to people not wanting to learn how to play properly and learn how to counter or play around a champs weakness/strength.

I fail to see how Trundle's design is worse than Jax (or any other bruiser for that matter). I would say his utility makes him more reliable and consistent than the majority of them. He has a clearly defined role in the game, as well as balanced strengths and weaknesses. In that respect, he seems more balanced than most of the roster (especially most of the newer champions).

If it wasn't for his utility I would probably agree with you.
