I have to say im disappointed that edge of night wasnt even mentioned in patch notes.

It's existence as a whole, is toxic. There's not a reason to pack such a defensive stat/passive into an offensive item. Not to mention you can still move and everything while channeling the active. Is it gonna be another case of dfg? wait a while and then boom instant epiphany that "hey this item isn't healthy for the game" and then boop removed? Like I'm truly concerned here.

It was mentioned.

Where we go from here will depend on how this patch shakes out, though there’s one step we know for certain we’ll be taking. Edge of Night’s got so much going on that changing it correctly is a more complex challenge than with most other items. We want to get this one right, so we held off on lumping it in with our initial batch of changes. Expect nerfs in 7.5.

Riot also stated they may hotfix the item.

Edge of Night should be getting hotfixed tomorrow. That's not reflected in the patch notes because those were written and localized to other languages before we decided to do the hotfix.

Hotfix is going out sometime between today and tomorrow, probably in the down time during the night.

It could honestly just lose the MR entirely then get a small damage nerf on top of that and just be an assassin's option for dealing with a fed burst mage. Is that really unacceptable in concept?

If they half the duration and give it a 5-10s longer CD I'd be calling it BS but it'd be ok to play against I guess.

Right now there's just no trade-offs. If it compromised your damage a bit more for the protection it provides, I think it'd be fair. I don't think it;s inherently wrong for assassins to have an item that prevents mages from just panic smashing their CC key whenever an assassin tries to kill them.

If it actually had less offense, it'd take longer for them to burst, giving the mage more of an opportunity to throw a non-CC skill into the shield before setting their CC up. It still provides the assassin a considerable advantage, but it would allow for agency on their part to escape.
