Why is Botrk better on Zed instead of BT?

Assuming the enemy team has no tanks, and the people who I was focusing were easy to chase without the slow + ms of botrk

Zed's ultimate increases the damage of BotrK's active. It's broken...

If the enemy team has no tanks and they are easy to chase (arguably slow and not good at kiting then), then you could frankly build any AD items on Zed and you should theoretically dominate. However, the reasons why item 3153 is so good is 1) it gives him even more mobility, which is good regardless of whether or not they have mobility, 2) it gives his auto-attacks more damage than item 3072 does, due to the passive on item 3153, and 3) it synchronizes well with both the damage amplification on his ultimate and the % damage on Zed passive. Plus, unless I'm remembering wrong, Zed ult increases the damage item 3153 active does if you use Zed ult first.

Edit: Also though, completely forgot to commend you for the excellent question. And if there's any Zed mains that can say something similar or even entirely contradicting what I'm saying, feel free to inform me of my erroneous information.

And as always, good luck and have fun on the Fields of Justice :)

I would like to point out that the passive only does more damage if they're currently sitting at around 1600 hp or so. At that point the only thing keeping it better is the attack speed allowing for more overall damage application per second through autoattacks and the active itself.

Any hp below that and BT is more effective even taking into account the lost attack speed. At this point it is totally unarguable that BotRK is better vs squishies unless you absolutely need the extra slow to hit your skillshots.

The effectiveness of BT is even arguable before that since you gain a more than considerable AD boost meaning a more than considerable damage boost to your abilities.

Thanks for the information. I'll keep this in mind next time I'm playing him :)

Thanks a lot and best of luck on the Fields of Justice, friend :)

But if you buy BT, why not just get Hydra?

lose 5 AD for another total-AD-related skill, which doesn't seem bad for me.

bork is a duelist item and all zed is good at is dueling.

bork is a duelist item and all zed is good at is dueling.

But sometimes zed doesn't even need to duel. The case of my game as zed, where I was using it basically to assassinate. One rotation of my combo could kill everyone on the enemy team , since they were all squishy, except for kha zix. The problem was that one of my teammates was raging HARD at me simple because I had choose BT over botrk.

botrk its a "save yourself" item most champs after gap closer have nothing to stay near you, botrk gives you a heal, steals ms from target and gives you ms, on top of that, DMG meanwhile bt gives a shield IF you auto first and after full hp, if you are at 50% hp lets say, botrk its more than enough to save you, meanwhile bt while not save you unless there is chance to kill the target

auto 7% more damage on his ult with BoTRk

Because the activation of BotRK + Zed's ult is incredibly good, and the passive + AS makes him even better at taking down turrets or punching you more.

If your prey is easy to chase, you use the +%AS to annihilate them.

If your prey is difficult to chase, you use the active to slow them then use your +%AS to annihilate them.

BotRK is mainly a playstyle choice and I prefer Hydra, but Zed does require autoattacking to outdamage other assassins (in base and ratio at least) so it would be beneficial to have at least some form of +%AS in your build.

"Assuming the enemy team has no tanks" Well thats ur first problem. If the enemy team has no tanks ur probably in bronze 5.

Otherwise even with or without tanks its better because the passive, and attackspeed lets you shred towers.

Because BotRK is physical damage dealt by zed equal to 10% max hp

Zed becomes untargetable for 0.75 seconds and dashes behind the target enemy champion. Upon arrival, he marks the target for death, ignores unit collision, and spawns a shadow that lasts for 6 seconds at the cast location. Reactivating Death Mark will cause Zed to swap places with this shadow. After 3 seconds, Death Mark will trigger, dealing flat physical damage plus a percentage of all physical and magic damage dealt by Zed to the marked champion while it was active.

It's primarily using the active with his ult, the mobility tends to be a bonus to sweeten the deal. Also, considering he's not going to build attack speed anywhere else typically, that along with the passive easily make up for higher base damage and lifesteal.

Because it's a heal, CC, MS boost and burst all in one. It also synergies with his kit. And it makes it so there are fewer options to countering him. Often HP is the best counter to an assassin, or burst in general. Zed says "nope".

Funny thing most people don't know, Death Mark's damage is calculated pre-mitigation, so the % from the active and passive do a shit load of damage even through armor

attack speed means more attacks in a very short time, which is good for his burst. Additionally, his ult reapplies all the damage he deals before it triggers, which means that the 8% current health on hit, which normally would scale down to almost nothing, helps him get a target to below half far more quickly, and is reapplied for the damage it dealt, not 8% of the targets current health again.
