So I was in ranked with my first Gold player (Me being silver)

Not only did i carry her through lane by camping her lane and getting her fed, i took objectives, at around 19 minutes they wanted to baron and I said no, for the reason of it was easily interjectable and I might get executed because eve is extremely squish, so instead i go bot and take turrets, meanwhile the gold jinx that i literally held her hand the whole game, flames me, "Oh eve we lost because you didnt get baron" The fact that shes gold and im silver and yet i know better, says it all, I knew we couldnt end because if we fought under turret, we would lose the fight . But no, all these self entitled "ADC mains" think they know everything ever about the game. Makes me not even want to play ranked because the only roles i really play are jungle and support and of course luck would have it, if im not blamed for supporting im blamed for jungling.

I don't see any gold players in your recent ranked match history. Everyone is bronze and silver. Also you shouldn't play Nidalee if you are low elo.

I didnt know that

There are differences between gold and silver, that's why they are different ranks. It's just popular community opinion that anything that's Below Platinum is "bad" when in reality Gold is good compared to the average player.

just because you are gold doesnt really mean you are good compared to anyone. you are still low elo. and unless you are gold 2 or above you are still equally terrible. just because you lucked out and got a border a year ago doesnt mean you are any good at the game now. just like the arbitrary parental guidelines are stupid just because someone is 17 doesnt mean they are mature enough to watch an R rated movie, just like a 14 year old doesnt necessarily mean he cant handle that R rated movie.

numbers are silly, and with the current queue are also completely pointless.

Numbers aren't silly. The average player is ranked Silver 3, while the median is Silver 5. Luck has nothing to do with it. The more you play, the more likely you are where you belong. Gold players and up occupy approximately the top 33%(Gold V)~13%(Gold I) of players. That's at least good in my book.

Now I understand what you might be thinking. Gold players are "bad" because when compared to Diamond+ players they are bad. I don't find this comparison to be useful, because this is like playing basketball and comparing yourself to NBA players. Sure, compared to them you are bad, but that's not a very helpful comparison. It's more useful for your own skill assessment to compare yourself to the average to see how much you've improved, or need to improve.

this is silly because there is no low level integrity to this system. i could easily queue up with a few friends that are diamonds and get to gold if i wanted to. getting to gold isnt going to make me any less bronze. plus between silver 1 and gold 5 there is no noticeable difference in "skill" obviously there is a huge difference between gold 1 and silver 5, but between silver 3 and gold 5 there isnt really that much difference.

and then you are completely ignoring the fact that one might of gotten to gold using a champion that got completely reworked, or changed, and would hardly qualify for bronze after the remake of the champion. this game has a complete new rule set every year, its no where close to what it was a year before, in this context, the person was gold a year ago, probably spamming the meta a year ago, and now has to relearn EVERYTHING to be gold. so this goes right back to what i said. having a gold border doesnt mean you are good, same applies to hitting gold.

I'm not sure what you mean by low level integrity. The system restricts you from queuing up with people that are more than 1 tier away from you (Silvers can only queue with Golds and Bronzes). I mean, I guess your diamond friends could make smurfs, get to 30, and queue with you? Sure, in that example the player is probably undeserving, but no system it going to be perfect. The majority of players earn their ranks with people of similar skill levels.

Also, one trick ponies exist. There are plenty of diamond players that get there using 1 champion, regardless of it being OP at the time or not. Ill take myself for example. I'm diamond, but only when playing support or jungle. Put me mid, and I'm probably Gold when it comes to laning. If you're Gold level at one champion, and you get Gold, that's fine. I don't think there is a comprehensive skillset that EVERY player should have at every tier. You should get to the tiers using whatever skill set or strategy you deem appropriate (outside of cheating/boosting etc.). If you were Gold last season, it means you were good last season and yes you have to relearn things, but so does everyone else. Maybe you'll climb, maybe you won't, but in a new season you'll be placed appropriately the more you play.

lets see... bottom of silver 5 is top 5152% iirc, and top of gold 1 is top 13% of playerbase... of ranked players, where between 5070% of players dont play ranked at all, depending on whether you include bots, and long time absence players.

so yeah it is kind of a big deal. #log scaling
