So it turns out kat is actually broken

Can we nerf it before this cancerous champion starts being spammed everywhere as ppl are starting to realise how broken she is?

She does have weaknesses, and you can exploit them. Her levels 1-5 or 6 are really weak unless you just let her poke you with passive procs. She can't shunpo around a lot because even with CDR it's still 3 seconds before she can shunpo back, so if she shunpos to a dagger, harrass her. If you let her free farm while playing safe until 6 you're not gonna have an easy time with her because THEN she can shunpo around a lot more often. Also she procs thunderlords really easily, and it enhances her damage by a lot. Just fought a Gangplank with her and thunderlords did 700 damage to him he said. I was fed out my ass because he made misplays early, and I abused that, and kept abusing it. He didn't even know that Katarina could shunpo to champions until I did it to him to finish him off. After he learned how I played and got a kill or two he was harder to fight. I had to surprise attack him in order to kill him at that point.

Also if she builds a dark seal first and gets a kill on you, usually you would expect her to deal a lot of damage right? Play a lot of her and you'll start to realize her weaknesses. Early on is when she is weakest, if you shut her down then it's going to be hard to come back. Also something you probably should know already anyways is how her daggers work, they land on the ground at an angle from where the original target was hit. If you track what she targets with her Q, you'll know where it's gonna land and can avoid that area. Another noticable weakness is obviously CC. You don't have to bring a mid laner vs her if she first picks Katarina mid. You can always bring Garen Darius Pantheon

Her laning phase is actually extremely strong at the moment. The passive Sinster Steel trigger is centered on Kat's model, and anytime her hitbox is in the Dagger's, it triggers. With Shunpo's ability to select which side of the target she wants to arrive on, this actually allows her to shift her passive's center-point and extend the range of it much further than opponents would anticipate from the positioning of the dagger, and this will also deal Shunpo's damage if the enemy champion is close enough. Combine that passive damage with her considerable base AD, basic attack reset on Shunpo, Shunpo's rather high base damage thanks to its total AD ratio, and her ability to cast Shunpo multiple times in succession, and Katarina can all in most champions as early as level 2.

I've played her a lot, and yeah, it is strong, if the enemy doesn't know how to fight against her. Thing is, level 2, the only thing you can do is get one passive proc on the enemy, and a Q if you Q the enemy directly, but that's not how you play Katarina in most situations. You practically HAVE to walk away at that point because your shunpo won't be back up for another 3 seconds and that's if you have 10-15% CDR from the getgo. Yeah, you'll do some damage, but the enemy likely has just as much damage potential as you do, the only difference is they're sitting there scared of you because they think you can dash around like a madman at level 2, which you can't. Your E cooldown reduction is tied to levels, and early on it takes a decent amount of time for you to be able to flash back to your original position. Once you E into a dagger, you're vulnerable if you do it at level 2. This is why I play safe until level 5-6 or until I see an opening. It's mind games honestly.

Riot did what they usually do. Release something new, people aren't good at it and complain it is weak. They buff it right as everyone is figuring it out. It becomes broken. So they nerf it into the ground for 3 years and call it impossible to balance.

You forgot the part where they say "But we're keeping it the same anyway because it's in line with our vision."

Swain Leblanc Heimerdinger Akali Fizz Syndra These make her life hell. She isn't broken. Without a good early game or a very experienced player she is very low impact. Grab item 3157 and her ult is canceled. Bring some hard cc and you make her ult stop. There is a lot of counterplay, you just need to learn her more. I honestly recommend that you try playing her. That way you can learn what her strengths and weaknesses are.

The problem is her killing ppl without even having to cast ult while casting her aoe/shunpo like 3 times in less than half a second after she completes 1 item.

Her ult is just like overkill, you literally die before you can even try to cc her back.

Trust me, just play her and you'll see her weaknesses and be able to find her counters easily. I mostly play her top lane though honestly because I'm a top lane main. You can easily spot where she's weak when you play her. Not having complete access to your shunpo until level 6 gives you plenty of time to get a kill or even 2 on her. The thing is, you probably let her Q and E to you, and then walk away, and then let her do it again, until you're dead. When she initiates early on you have to return the favor. If you don't she'll just wittle you down until she can kill you, and then once she gets the ball rolling she'll start being able to burst you. Any fed champion gets that way if they have damage in their kits. You most likely let her deliver small trades without much return damage, and then walk away until she does it again. Her first two levels are her weakest, but she's still not super amazing until she's level 5-6 unless she's already 2 kills up on you.

Her Q cooldown is decent length btw, so yeah, at level 2 the only thing she can do after a Q>E is walk away, you can just pelt her as she runs helplessly back to safety. Seriously though, if you're REALLY having trouble with her as a mid laner, just pick a top laner that would shit on her, and I listed 3 good ones in one of my previous posts. Mid lane doesn't HAVE to be for only mages. If you know a counter to a champion, you can use it so long as your team picks accordingly, and in my experience most of the time they do. She can't do much of anything if Garen gets a kill on her, because once she shunpo's to him, he just Qs her and she can't run away. Darius can pull her to him and get off easy combos, he's also really strong early game. Pantheon has a point and click stun(really good for Kat), and a point and click ranged ability with lots of damage and somewhat of an execute. It's pretty hard to play against these guys.

Btw I wouldn't say Heimerdinger makes her life hell. She can take out his turrets, and if she plays it right she can make him miss his stun and deal a lot of damage to him and his unholy trinity of turrets. I would say it depends on how skilled both champions are at the matchup and how skilled the Kat player actually is. I would say it's harder than the usual mid laners though and if he can actually land one stun you're likely dead unless you're playing tank Kat.

Getting bullied and zoned in lane by a lvl 2 Katarina just feels wrong, but I guess this is life now.
