Possible Bug: Jax's Counter Strike may dodge Tristana's Explosive Charge

Playing a game and noticed my Explosive Charge (E) didn't attach to Jax when he used his Counter Strike.

Side note, Tristana's passive range needs to be buffed slightly, her range is a bit too close right now. 7 range per level is too low IMO, and should be increased to 8 or 9.

tristana needs no buffs... and the ball is an on hit effect, technically.

The problem is the range buff is so small it is hardly noticeable, a small increase would be nice or a change. Not really sure how since I have to target it with the ability. I can understand for the on hit for increasing the damage, but the charge itself should still attach.

No... I mean the spell is coded as an on hit effect. Its basically coded as an auto attack with the effect of buster ball.

Then Tristana's E is coded wrong and should be fixed

It's not coded as an on hit effect, he's wrong. It's coded as an AOE. It applies spell vamp and is blocked by Banshee's. Jax is supposed to take 25% less damage from it, not dodge it.

Tell him that then, not me.

I can tell you I tossed the Explosive Charge onto Jax and it didn't attach while he was using Counter Strike.

  1. You can't just say something was coded wrong xD 2.Mightve been a bug or you just didn't see it

It's a spell. The on-hit effect would technically be the increased damage per auto-attack.

If the spell doesn't hit then it's a coding error - not intended ability interaction.

... No. Its not. Its coded as an on hit effect. Which means jax's dodge works on it because on-hit effects are treated as basic attacks. which means, to jax's dodge, the buster ball is considered a basic attack.

If it's coded as an on-hit effect it's been done through error. It's a spell that deals physical damage. The only thing that Jax's counterstrike should be stopping is the damage ramp-up per Auto-Attack.
