Wondering if anyone who knows about how this stuff works can explain this.

OK so season 4 i finished Silver 4.

For season 5 i went 7-3 in my placements but got placed in Bronze 4 and never made it back out.

For season 6 i went 7-2 in my placements...(i did play a 10th game but servers crapped and it got loss prevented and i was told the game didnt count so only 9 were used. But even though i went 7-2 i was placed in Bronze 5, but finished the season in Silver 5.

Ok so I just finished my placements for season 7 and i finished 6 - 4.........its saying i will start the season in Silver 2.

Now im not mad at that but its just weird that in season 4 when i finished at Silver 4 and went 7-3 in next seasons placements it put me in bronze 4....but then i finish season 6 Silver 5 and i do worse in my placements but get placed 7 tiers higher.

So how exactly does this work?

Due to the increase in playerbase you were initially viewed as playing lowtier players. This time you were with "silver-gold tiers" so you got better ratings.

Sorry but the other guy is wrong. Here is a quick breakdown.

Flex is fresh mmr, so you start around 1200, and then get placed from there depending on placements.

Your solo q is not fresh after your first time being ranked. And everyone gets placed lower than where you last placed the season before, unless your bronze you can be silver.

Also this is preseason so the ranks will be soft reset once season 7 starts and you will redo placements
