History of Yasuo and Possible Future?

I saw this video from Exil and decided i'd post it here and also give some of my thoughts.

First, i agree with Exil on most fronts, he's extremely frustrating to play against and with sometimes and often doesn't seem like he has a clear weakness that can be exploited like most champions do.

Like i hate to beat a dead horse cause these things have been said a hundred thousand times on the forums but i'll list the most common issues that i and other player's have with Yasuo.

  1. Passive Shield for no real cost or work.
  2. Ability that block entire kits on a relatively low cooldown with no real cost.
  3. Ludicrous amounts of dashing.
  4. Double Crit chance

First on to his passive shield, he's meant to be a Melee ADC, i can agree with giving him a passive shield but having it be 100 at lvl 1 and scale up to 500 at max level is pretty bonker's, it basically blocks at least 1 ability no matter what stage of the game your in.

Windwall, i don't understand why he has this, or atleast why he has it in it's current state, 24 second cooldown on an ability that blocks many ultimates(Nami, Ashe and Poppy for example) and also blocks key components or entire kits of almost every champion in the game. Meanwhile Warwicks W gives a movement speed boost and a trail that leads to the nearest enemy on a 120 second cooldown, i see a very clear difference in Power here and that's why i hate this ability.

The dashing is understanble but very frustrating, i think he does need it to fulfill his Fantasy but it's still infuriating to have to try and catch him or hit him, especially as a Melee.

There are so many problems wit Crit Chance that i don't want to go into that but just recognize that Yasuo gains more from 2 crit items than any other champion in the game for nothing at all, he doesn't sacrifice anything for this except that he's Incentivized to get crit and while that's much better it still doesn't excuse the fact that he can come back with a Phantom Dancer and 1v1 almost anyone in lane.

I don't hate Yasuo, nor do i think he's OP, but he is very frustrating and we can't lie his Kit is very overloaded.

There's many champions with overloaded kits right now, Camille is good example. So why do people complain about Yasuo so much? The reason is simple: Yasuo isn't fun to play against. He's not over powered, he's not the most broken champion, his kit isn't the most overloaded one either...but when you waste a 60-120 seconds cooldown just to see him block him with a terribly timed wind wall, maybe even in the wrong direction, it just tilts you.

His passive shield makes the fact he's melee not relevant at all, yeah you can poke him but he can just walk around and get it back if he wants to, he has no mana, his cooldowns are quite low, he has double crit chance and his ult makes him ignore a certain amount of armor.

I don't play Yasuo much, not even level 4 mastery on him, but whenever I pick him it's just so easy to get fed 1vs1 or win lane in general. In teamfights you gotta be more experienced for sure, but people saying he's a really complicated champion...heh, a bad Yasuo can still stomp his lane with so much in one kit.

Playing mostly ADCs or Mages,** I just ban him**. I don't care how strong or weak he is, I don't wanna deal with his windwall in a teamfight or just in general, it forces you to move in a dangerous position or just do 0 dps.

Yasuo isn't fun to play against. The main thing I hear about any interactive midlaner.

Zed, not fun to play against. Talon, not fun to play against. Ekko, not fun to play against.

If there exists a melee range midlaner that has a kit that forces engages, they aren't fun to play against.

But Zed doesn't have a shield that resets on ult, he's as squishy as you are, there's items to counter his ult, you can also outplay him. Same goes with Ekko, I actually think Ekko is really fair to play against, whether you let him get 3 stacks on you, dodge his stun, his q and beware of his ult, his whole kit makes both people interact with it. Talon I can agree with, but even Talon without ulti is a squishy target that builds mostly damage, and needs to use his passive to be effective early. How's Yasuo different? Well, he can deny you cs under your own turret with his windwall, he can block ults, his shield refreshes. He's fun to play against as a bruiser like Fiora or Riven, because it's a skill matchup, but when he's mid vs a mage it's just a boring and one sided.
