Supports are much stronger than they were two seasons ago
the biggest problem right now is that what seems to have been forgotten is that supports first and foremost are catered in helping the ad carry survive and potentially deal more damage.
I mean am not very good at explaining things at a high intellect level . simply am not the greatest writer. but how do I put this in words
a year ago we had two ways of helping the adc survive through items. one is locket. the other the face of mountain items.
lets look at what have we introduced to make it even harder to take out ad carries
(new locket gives a much better shield on tanks).
and the keystone mastery that gives armor/mr and increases healing.
. the keystone that lets adc's lifesteal based on your HP.
you can currently get
+20% increases healing and shielding from mikael +10% from keystone +10% from redemption +10% from ardent censor
all of this led champions like soraka sona and janna. that if you recall. used to build items that give ap. such as the old banner which was almost always built on them. into them building a lot of hp and resistances and becoming an unreliable target to kill in a team fight due to how hard it is to kill them
btw that increased healing and shielding pretty much negates grievous wounds . thats not counting in that blood thirster, bork and death dance give more healing than they did in the past because they give more attack damage now.
you added the items to make supports more fun to play. at the same time what did you do to counter balance these changes? so far nothing really.
a great example if you watch high elo junglers or top laners. scarra sometimes or iwd. they build redemption locket and knights vow on tanks to spam them on their ad carry
tldr: buffing supports kits and items over the past two years has a side effect that enabled ad carries way too much. gave them way too much survivability. adding on we're giving them more xp and gold (way more) than before
) and doesn't include their big multiplier item, whereas AD assassins' spike costs 8.8k (Duskblade Ghostblade Cleaver).
