[suggestion] Can thresh be considered a melee champ for the sake of targons?

redfeenix··1 votes·494 views

I am lvl 1 with thresh. And I sucked at last hitting minions with targons.

Can thresh be considered melee with longer ranges (due to his long melee weapon) rather than ranged?

If you look at his attack animation he isn't throwing anything ranged. It's a melee flail with similar range to wuking q ( and that's melee too)

Naut has a similar class of weapon and he is considered mêlée.

Should thresh be considered a melee champ (so I can finally proc targons). Or am I just a noob and should learn to last hit ?

Or do I build coin or something else ?

Thanks

I get what you're saying thematically about thresh's weapon, but the best way to define a ranged champion is, unsurprisingly, by their range. Thresh's range is more than 2.5 times longer than either wukong or nautilus. I don't care if he has a telescoping arm, reaches out, and slaps them on the head, that doesn't make him melee.

You should be maxing E (at least for its first few ranks) anyway. I assume you aren't. Letting your E store up damage and using it to proc targons will make last hitting a lot easier.

Thresh's kit is so stupidly overloaded that honestly i'm surprised he doesn't already have a passive somewhere that says "thresh can proc targons like a melee champion."

No I wasnt, I was maxing Q for the reduced cooldown. That spell is pretty awesome.

I'll try an E max next game Cheers thanks for the advice

You usually won't get more than one hook in a fight until late game when you have it at 5 ranks and some cdr. You will, however, get multiple autos off every fight botlane. Maxing E is an auto attack damage amp, you'll trade much better.

Also fuck that champion.

Lowering the cooldown of hook by 1 was pretty good, as the enemy was pretty easy to land hooks on. I just kept spamming q on cooldown, and going in. It was pretty fun.

E is okay, but I valued the lower cooldown of Q a lot more. Also I never even read the passive part of E.

Q is just such a useful spell, and lowering its cooldown during lane just helps so much for fighting as its almost always fatal for the enemy carry to get hooked and flayed.

Thresh has 450 range. He simply has too long of range to be considered melee.

Fair enough that's almost as much as vayne

Use the Passive of his E to help with last hitting.

He has always been considered Ranged. If they want to make him Melee then they would need to drop his attack range. As far as starting build goes. if you need Relic Shield just use your Flay to execute the minions as it is considered a Melee spell. That or start Coin which could be more useful.

Okay I don't wanna offend any ADC threshes so I'll just learn to last hit vs bots.

I started q on thresh since I think that's the better spell for lvl 1. I'll try q next time.

Thanks for the thresh tips.

Also this nemesis mode is sick cuz im playing all these champs I never played like Yorick Janna etc. I like bard a lot
