Bad Games and Carrying.

What can I do to carry more? I just got out of a game where I was 9/3/2 by the 16 minute mark as Evelynn. I almost had gotten my 5th item, but my bot lane was terribly behind. I tried to help them with ganks, but they chose passive champions, so there was almost no follow up. I ended up slowing down the growth of the enemy bot lane and we actually got a kill on the enemy carry.

Bot lane then got rolled by the enemy jungle, because he started camping their lane, so there was nothing I could do. I tried to focus other lanes, but bot got too far behind for us to pull back.

Heres the interesting part. When I looked back at the ending scores of my team I noticed that in a 27 minute game, our ADC had only done 3400 DAMAGE! TO ENEMY CHAMPIONS! How is that even possible. I had gotten almost 16,000 on EVE, and she is like, not that strong right now.

How can I carry more? I literally can not find any way to steamroll my lanes faster. I give them buffs. I ward their lanes. I gank them when necessary. AND THEY STILL END UP WITH 3400 DAMAGE!

I don't know what else to do. Please help.

It looks like you did all you could. I'm not the most experienced player, but I know what it feels like to carry and not succeed. I recently went 40/18/12 with Master Yi jungle, got a penta, and we still lost the game.

uh 40 kills and a penta >_> you mustve either thrown super hard or your team mustve sucked really bad

I was trying as hard as I could to save the game. Team sucked.

You probably got outscaled. Honestly Yi loses late game, because he doesn't 1 shot anymore.

I don't have many jungle champions and Yi is probably my best. Yeah he does lose late game.

same shit happened to me my very first ranked game.

In my first ranked game ever I went something like 28-3 on Kayle.

The 3rd death caused me to lose the game.

Shit like this happens if you have not too bad mechanics for your elo, but you have shit strategy.

40/18/12 is not a carry score, its a killhappy score, it shows how little you understand about this game, you probably end up throwing the game a lot come end-game.

I said myself I'm not a very experienced player. I'd rather not have you personally attack me and reread what I've said. I play games to have fun and I left that game knowing I myself did well and we nearly won the game; they only had 1 nexus turret left.

Thank you for the lovely information though.

It's not an attack.

The thing is, you didn't do well, you played very poorly due to that extremely high death count, deaths are more important than kills. Kills get you gold, deaths cost you matches. Dieing when you have made a lot of kills is even worse because you give the enemy shutdown gold, plus you can't go for objectives while the enemy is dead because you are also out of commission.

Simply having a lot of kills doesn't mean that you carry.

Again, don't take this as an attack, don't read emotions into my post that aren't there.

See, if you made your original post like that I would have taken it better.

That brought new light to the way I played that game, and you're right. No sarcasm this time. Thank you for the information.

number 1 pro tip: always get bot lane ahead. Doesn't matter if mid or top are feeding. Unless the enemy is playing Azir or Cassiopeia it doesn't matter. Bot lane is the carry lane. Late game the game is ALWAYS 4 supports + ADC.

Well, if mid has a fed assassin and bot has a fed ADC, the ADC will probably die in every clash until he gets his first defensive item, which is often at min 40.

if bot has the fed ADC while enemy mid has the fed assassin and your own mid has utility (especially hard CC or shields) then you win easily if you stun the enemy assassin when he moves in. The enemy ADC is useless without items, making the game essentially a 4v5. Mid doesn't snowball nearly as hard as bot since the ADC has zero utility in most cases. Also, if the assassin is the sole enemy threat, the ADC can just go 3rd or 4th item defensive. There's a reason Zed falls off late game if he does not suppress the enemy bot lane.

Some games are unwinnable. Actually, a lot of them are with the curret state of the meta. The first thing you need to know before you carry is: can you carry your team? If the answer is yes, keep playing. Dont try to snowball anyone, just get as fed as you can and exert as much pressure to as many people as possible. If the answer is no, surrender.

How do you know if you can carry a game? Its not up to you, its up to your team. In one of my games I think I went 21/3 and still lost. Throughout the entire game I tried to surrender. Why? Because the only thing my adc could do was feed. He didnt understand the concept of fighting a losing fight. He would have half hp and walk into a 1v5 dragon. No matter how good you are, you cant carry bad people.

So the first thing you need to establish is if your team is good enough to carry. If they cant farm under their turret, keeps pushing a losing lane, or continues to 1v1 a fed enemy, they are beyond redemption, and so is that match.
