When Riot starting letting Champion Skins and Popularity dictate game balance...
... is when I decided this game is not worth it anymore. Champion balance is terrible and is at such a point now that I doubt Riot could save it, even if they wanted to. Riot are so busy trying to appeal to the collectivist eastern market that they have completely neglected their western market and cries for more individuality and choice. (Something that countries like Korea and China hate because they want to have "Optimal" all the time at the expense of creativity).
(Seriously, the east DOES have a war on creativity and individualism, they want everyone to look the same and contribute to the "whole" rather then creating a happy medium between socialism and capitalism like we have here in Europe. Yes... Politics does have something to do with this game because Riot realised they could make even more money from the eastern market, the "runes reforged" system was an example of that, stripping away many creative aspects of the game.)
Simply put... this game can't be saved. Streamers are leaving, players are leaving... hell just go look at declining queue times this year, even for low ELO and you'll see that this haemorrhaging of players is far beyond what even Riot want to admit.
I've played this game for 5 years, a friend introduced me... its simply not fun anymore and I refuse to be part of a collective where only one player style is accepted. This was a diverse and strategic game and now its just an "action fighting game".
Nobody cares about me so I won't do a "I Quit" post. I did try to hope that Season 9 would turn this around but this game just can't be saved now. Its so so sad. I started falling out of love when Riot took champions that I'd practiced and loved for years and destroyed them, changing their identities and I don't want to see that anymore.
Riot has lost its way... Sorry...
