I know shield spam was awful, but don't go overboard now that you're addressing it.

Orianna Karma Lulu all getting their durations halved, Janna decays, and Rakan got his nerfed as well last patch. These on their own are good moves, now that 45% CDR is an easily acquired thing shields had stupid uptime once you got a couple items.

But these aren't the only shield changes going on in the ecosystem. FotM is gone, and now the items with bonus healing and shielding passives have nerfs on PBE. Additionally, anti shield mechanics seem to be the new "3 hit passive" for reworks and new champs. Pyke execute ignores shields, Aatrox will have grievous wounds style reduced shielding on his passive, Irelia has shield shredding, Urgot ult prevents shield from saving you from the meat grinder.

Just saying, maybe you don't need to halve a bunch of shields strength if you're curbing shield power elsewhere and adding anti shield mechanics.

Um.... hello?

This game isn't about balance.

It's about going overboard constantly.

It's about fine tuning something till it's beyond broken.

It's about breaking the game until the next patch is released.

When the next 'new' thing is beyond broken.

LoL - will never be like football or chess.

Rules aren't set in stone.

Champions, items, keystones aren't fair.

The game is about exploiting the best combo to win.

It's about changing what you know and love, so everything is always fresh and exciting.

Riot has historically always gone overboard. They don't understand the concept of a middle ground.

Shields haven't changed in the past year, I think. And they were pretty fair, besides for some champs in particular.

Damage is the problem; it has been for 6 months, and they only made it worse... Also with this kind of nerfs. League of One Shots is pointless.

I think it's not meant to be overboard but so players can plainly feel that the nerfs have had an impact in game. To garner a more immediate (not preemptive) response.

So when it does role out and you do feel the impact of the changes then you can voice the opinions. A lot of players have been on the boat about this and these shield durations have been more or less the same length for 5 or 6 seasons from what I can remember.

And second, it'd be really hard for them to add more shield busting mechanics when the mechanic itself is relatively new. It'd bring more balancing issues (for the team mind you, not the boards) to deal with. Whether it's adding an extra item or tacking it onto more champion kits.
