In terms of gameplay design, Jhin is the best champion of 2016 - 2017....

As much as some people hate Jhin (For some reason), his design is brilliant. It seems like simplicity incarnate but is actually very complex and flexible. I would even go so far as to say Jhin is one of the best designed characters , if not the best designed character of any MOBA I've ever played.

His lack of dashes, only average range attacks (Middle of the road ADC range), restrictive 4-shots before reloading, long range skills but with significant counter-play on all of them..... all function as superb counter-balances to one another.

So I ask you , Riot, for what reason have the other new champs been... less than stellar in terms of gameplay design? and more importantly.... will New Evelynn be on par with Jhin or will he be more on par with Kayn ?

Kayn is a great design tho...... He is pretty interesting having 2 ways that his kit can go.

While I think Jhin is a good design for ADC. that doesnt make him the best design in the game. A design like that just wouldnt work in the jungle. And thats where Kayn is played.

Lets look at Jhin. -No mobility. thats a huge no no with jungle champs. very few junglers are no mobility. most of them who have that no mobility are tanks. -Restrictive Basic attacks. You cant have that on a jungler since Jungle camps take a lot of attacks to take down. -Pretty easy to dodge his only CC. If a jungler has such an inconsistent CC while also not being mobile and Having limitations on his Attacks then he is actually just useless

A kit similar to Jhin wouldnt work in the jungle and Trying to compare his kit on a "good design" level to a Jungler is just pointless.

Good jungler Kits thrive on 4 points. You can find one in each jungler. -The Hard CC jungler. Things like Rammus, Sej, Zac -The Assassin. things like Kayn, Nidalee -The Clearer. Things like Yi, Shyvana -The Objective controller. Things like Nunu.

While you may have a bias towards Jhin On his kit. You have to understand that many mechanics that Jhin has in place on him are debilitative on a jungler. and would lead to a horrendous Jungle gameplay design.

I agree, Jhin is probably one of the best designed champions in the game, both in gameplay and in character concept.

What I don't agree with is your implied dislike of mobility, I love me my mobility. Even if it's in the form of a speed boost (like Jhin).

Illaoi did that pretty well too, y'know, once they balanced her.

I think Xayah is my favorite of the newer champions gameplay wise.

She is a good balance between assassin and adc. There isn't really much of a minigame or gimmick to her kit like a lot of the other recent champions. Basically you just have to keep track of where your feathers are and when to pull them back for that root / burst damage. She has a very straight forward kit which is basically a poke abiliity, a attack steroid, and the feather recall ability. Her ultimate is nice for dodging skillshots / ultimates / cc into a all in or gtfo play.

Hilariously enough she's probably one of the most balanced champions I've seen riot release pretty much staying dead on 50% winrate after things settled down and needed like only a single nerf 3 patches after she was released.

Kayn is a bit weak right now but with his kit I'm worried that he will become complete cancer if he isn't buffed very very carefully sorta like Ivern .
