Can We Have More Ward Items? No, Really

Health items with 80-100 AP, 50-60 AD, 20-30 armor/MR that build from Sightstone would make this game way more fair to supports. It would also go a long way in teaching the lesser metals how to ward.

Isn't that what the "Eye" items are meant for? Giving support a stat boosting item that also provides wards?

They're not gold efficient, they are slot efficient. Big difference.

They are replacements to active ability items like FotM and Frost Queen's. The extra ward offered by the eye items are not as strong as the active effects.

Ask anyone who supports and researched these. They aren't worth the gold in comparison to getting the usual support item with active effects. Eyestones were a replacement for the Ruby Sightstone option that no one was getting ever because the games don't last long enough to be worth sinking an extra 1k gold for some health on your sightstone. And item slot efficiency isn't worthwhile until late game full builds matter which is less and less common now for supports who are already generally underleveled in a meta that is sub 40 minutes.

Hasn't it become kind of the standard item on Braum and other supports? I always see Eye of the Equinox on him every single game. Also wasn't the point of limiting wards to allow supports not to simply be a ward bot?

Looking at the items again, I really don't think the Eye items are that gold inefficient, not compared to their counter parts. Comparing the FotM with Eye of the Equinox, FotM has 10% CDR and an Active, while the Eye has slightly more HP, as well as the wards. With one ward extra from the original Sight stone.

But if your only looking at the Eye items for Slot efficiency, your kind of doing it wrong. For literally 2200 gold, you can have both a functioning sight stone items and a fully upgraded GP10 items. And it's a good purchase if you don't care for the actives the other support items give you. This can accelerate you to your next item purchase, which could be a locket, a banner, a Crucible.

But if you didn't want the other item active from either FQC, FotM or Talisman. And you didn't think the Eye items were worth it. Your only alternative would be to skip the GP item upgrade, which isn't as effective as it use to be.

Just keep in mind, Supports usually need to think about the Early game.
