The real problem with Aatrox--the only top laner with no defensive ability

His passive is basically die, come back with low health and no attack speed, and then die again.

But as far as usual passives that keep him alive in a fight, he only has attack speed bonus when his bloodwell is full, which will help him lifesteal more often. Easily shut down with items and abilities.

Lets look at all the other top laners

Jax--Can parry damage, gets bonus armor and magic resist with his ult that scales off of AD and AP Olaf--Passively gains resistances Jarvan--can shield himself for 5 seconds Fiora--can parry incoming damage and CC Tryndamere--can become invincible Nasus--Gains health and resistances when he ults Riven--gets a shield that scales off of AD

Need I go on? They all have defensive abilities that allow them to stay in the fight. Aatrox is the only one that doesn't have this.

Unless you wanted to include sustain.

Then Aatrox is right in line with his W, especially since he has his passive and then his Q for escape.

The real problem with Aatrox is ALL of Aatrox. He needs a total VGU.

He's only capable of being too weak or too strong for any given situation.

He's INTENTIONALLY kept weak for a reason.

His ult is godsend for tower dives, and he has innate sustain. Compared to the other revive passives, his has probably the least drawbacks.

the shield j4 does is crap because it depends on how many people you hit with it. nasus has to ult. aatrox has sustain more so then all the other champs not to mention a slow and a stun.

Heal that scales off ad.

Have you seen the size of J4's shield? It's like 2 health if you only hit 1 person (and don't max it, which most people don't).

Master Yi - can dodge skillshot CC with Q Autos lower Q CD by 1s. W reduces inc damage by over 50%.

Also, Riven shield has a very low CD.

His kit isn't the problem imo, just the ratios. Right now the best way to play him is to max e to get better poke, but his e is weaker than olafs q. I think if they made his kit so maxing w is more rewarding and stronger, then he'd be balanced.
