League is behind SMITE and HOTS in game development.

Both SMITE and HOTS have loads of different game modes to keep the player interested and not make leveling up, that much of a chore. I especially LOVE "Arena" on SMITE which is a 5v5 Colosseum where you have to deplete your enemy team's reinforcements by getting minions into their portal near their spawn and killing enemy "Gods".

But there is nothing like this in League. Now they are taking away Dominion which may seem minor but it completely destroys the choice on offer to the player if they do not want to play the hilarious broken "Summoner's Rift" at the moment. (Which in my opinion has not been in such a state of imbalance for years).

I am making this statement now, if they remove ARAM, I will quit the game because at least the towers on ARAM, actually DO their job as defensive structures, protecting squishy targets when they are low level.

There is just a complete lack of choice in League which dissapoints me. Riot nearly ruined ARAM by adding "mark" as a summoner spell and now they are tearing down Dominion. Why are we having our choices and fun game modes taken away.

Game modes do NOT work better seasonally, SMITE has a unique game mode that they change EVERY week and 5 other PERMENANT game modes as well. This just smells, well if I'm honest, its lazy Riot.

Then play Smite and HoTS*[slayer-jinx-catface]*

Exactly. Why come here and bitch about league? Just play those games instead

Blame the playerbase that mostly avoided Dominion.

Smite sucks imo and Hots is imbalanced.

and what evidence can you provide for that. I have played both and with the exception of Nova for HOTS and Bellona for SMITE, both are pretty well balanced with unique and interesting characters. Its Riot that are behind the times in their designs.

I'm talking about the mapmodes, there's too many to balance that. It might be a fun game for some but definitely not balanced.

Smite has a long way to go before i can actually compete with lol

Wether its champion development or item its really far behind

Edit

Smite has what clash and joust which are similar to twisted treeline

Arena and the other one which are basically aram

Also why must every mage have a large aoe ability which are all nearly the exact same.

And why must all supports be tanks in smite?

To answer your questions:

  1. Because mages need wave clear and many of them have round AOE's because they're controlling that area, that is part of what a mage does in SMITE. Control an area or buff your team.
  2. The meta at the moment favors tanks as supports. Most healers are better off in the solo or mid lane because they don't offer much more than healing for their team. A Guardian can: buff your team, heal your team (Sylvanus), provide CC and provide your team with protections.

I play a decent amount of SMITE, I don't think it will be as big as LoL, but it occupies a niche and does it well. It is a great game.

Every support that smite has released has been a tank, aphro may be the exception. They hall have stupid amounts of cc and silly damage.

The meta has always favoured tabk supports in smite as their are only tank supports in the game...

The lanes are always the same in smite

Bot is the carry and the tanky supp

Mid is one of the many circle spamming wave clear casters

Jungle is generally an assasin or again a tank

Top is you guessed it usually a tank...

Good game but severe balance issues when compaired to lol

The solo lane usually has a warrior or a mage in it, some tanks, like Sobek, can go into the solo lane. I don't think the game is as unbalanced as LoL. SMITE is a bit more straight forward.

small champ pool low fan base and each map is significantly smaller in hots (or at least it feels like that) so its not really that much different when you look at the balance issues in both of those games

HoTS is just extremely boring. SMITE might be fun but haven't played it.

HOTS have loads of different game modes

I don't view this as an objectively good thing tbh. I wish there was one "main" map. I hate Queueing up for ranked in HOTS and having no idea if i'm about to be in one of the maps that i like or one that i absolutely can't stand.

Also, this logic is dumb. I could say that HOTS is waaaay beyind League because they still haven't implemented items.

There is just a complete lack of choice in

HOTS

which dissapoints me.

I couldn't do smite, their female characters look like they belong in a porn game lmao

What about the Rift is inbalanced? It's like the base of the game that sets the tone for it, so balance changes revolve around the rift, not the other way around. I'm not doubting you, I just want to hear what you have to say :)

I just feel that SR at the moment has been exclusively balanced around AD champions (mostly assassins and ADC's). Towers have been dramatically weakened to facilitate easier tower dives by Zed and Graves. AD champions have ALWAYS done more damage to towers due to their items which enhance their basic attacks as well as their abilities that scale off AD.

Personally, I believe that Riot caters far too much towards AD champions when AP (especially mages) have been neglected in this meta. I do not see why they don't just make all AP champions AD and then make all items AD and then let anyone build whatever they want because the diversity in this game is going down the pan. There is ALWAYS some brainless AD powerhouse in EVERY game now that wins through the power of whatever element of bullshit they have, for example;

Rengar - Ambush damage - Bullshit Zed - New item exclusively complimenting him and pretty much everything in his kit, safety etc - Bullshit LeeSin - Damage and mobility - Bullshit

etc...

If your point is that LoL is becoming less like HotS and Smite, well....that sounds great to me. HotS in particular is garbage. Smite is fun for a minute but it's pretty shallow compared to LoL.
