At least you can still play the game against Lee. Azir makes it so you can't do anything except try to cs under tower while avoiding his soldiers. Even when Lee was pick ban after the Lee, Elise, Vi phase there were a decent amount of champions that could still be played in the jungle. Azir turns it into Azir vs whoever goes even with Azir meta

You can still play the game against Lee. It's not like he takes all of your farm and makes it so you can never do anything at all like Azir does. Both Azir and Lee have constant pressure on you but Azir's is oppressive and has no counterplay when he's strong. I'm not saying Lee was a problem I'm just saying Azir is far, far worse.

This is not counterplay. Those are counterpicks. They aren't even half as bad as counterpicks other champions get, and obviously you won't get 5 artilleries in a team. Azir will still make sure 4 players on enemy team are not playing League of Legends.

Because Lee was prioritized because of his early game strength. Lee does fall off though. Azir on the other hand is strong early and an absolute monster lategame. Azir also burns turrets and neutral monsters insanely fast which is a pretty big deal at that level of play. We just have to get through the Worlds patch then maybe he can see some love. Gotta admit I would rather see some more champion diversity at Worlds this year

No, they nerfed Azir because his laning phase was too strong and uninteractive AF (his lategame has more or less been untouched the only difference is that he'll actually have to put in work to get there), it's literally him just throwing practically undodgable skills at you from very long range until you either lose your mind or he messes up opening himself up to get ganked. His kit is toxic AF and ridiculously strong in competent hands, if that means he will have to be garbage in low-skilled players hands and a niché pick to be somewhat balanced then I welcome that Riot decision.
