For how twitch auto wins games past 3 items, his early game needs to be A LOT weaker than it is atm

Rexxiee··39 votes·2,162 views

Like no joke, he needs a early game weaker than jinx and vayne.

Jinx is weaker than twitch in lane and not as strong late game (twitch is like a stronger jinx at all phases of the game).

I have a feeling it's because supports and their itemization. Despite what people say, supports right now might be the strongest and most impactful role. It's just that their power is always hidden since it shows in the carries of a game and not the supports themselves.

Twitch has been over powered for a while, and has been better than Caitlyn even before her first set of nerfs. Although Riot prioritizes nerfs on popularity for either the pro scene or non-pro scene. Less popular dominant champions aren't really nerfed as often even when they deserve to be.

If you compare Twitch and Caitlyn's stats you'll see Twitch is better in every way, he's simply picked less often. He even performs well in the jungle with some experience.

Currently according to league of graphs his winrate is 52.9% (vs 51.8%%), and his popularity is 16.7% (vs 28.0% ). Twitches winrate goes from 47% at 20 to 59% at 50, were as Cait's winrate goes from 54% at 20 to 49% at 50. They seem about on par honestly. (All Data Diamond+) Also you have to remember, Twitch Q is the biggest reason he does so well in SoloQ. Free positioning that can allow him to assassinate people, which in chaos (soloque all day every day) he does well.

Im not defending either one, but really I would rather play vs twitch then Trist, Vayne, Kog every game.

  1. I was thinking about this earlier. Do you think its actually the supports? Because Champs like Janna Soraka are both doing well in soloque, but both are not really hard carry supports like Thresh and blitz. Basically when Janna starts doing well I always expect ADC's to be doing to much damage.

Yeah actually that makes sense. For the most part it seems like utility supports are the strongest, which is because of the items obviously. That is interesting.

As a person who has tried to play twitch, it isnt an auto win for everybody...

Junkο5 votes

He doesn't auto win games though.

And his early is already complete garbage. He stands no chance against Cait and Draven who are also strong ADCs atm.

Draven isn't a lane bully though, he is completely reliant on support to set him up for his damage.

Also with games ending early nowdays Twitch having a weak early means there really isn't much reason to pick him. Let's face it, if you didn't close game early vs Twitch it's your own damn fault. It's like complaining about Kog'maw 50 minutes in the game when he has Soraka or Janna support making him invincible.

He only has damage if you don't punish him for trying to catch his axes, which are heavily telegraphed.

His early game is far from being Vayne's, but he's EXTREMELY weak to disrupters and some warden.

Or you know , not auto winning after 3 items cause that is dumb af?

Tobias Brackner4 votes

He doesn't autowin after 3 items.

Don't stand in a line.

He doesn't autowin after 3 items.

Don't stand in a line.

Thats no the problem.

The problem is he killing you from 850 range from stealth in 2 seconds while having all the peel from the supports.

You cant even reach him before you die, and if you try to dive him with multiple ppl you just get aoed into oblivion (and you cant kill quickly him anyway because lol locket/redemption/exhaust/knightsvow/ardent)

Basically if the twitch player has a half functioning support you just lose past the 3 item mark.

aqours fanboy5 votes

No shit you won't reach them that's their job to increase their range.

The main reason when a Twitch stealths and you are not capable of killing him you back the fuck off in a bush or something where he can't auto you without coming close.

Is he strong? Quite. Do y'all make it easy for him to kill you guys? Abso-fucking-lutely.

Tobias Brackner1 votes

850 range is still in spell range for a lot of champions.

Just to be clear, your example is talking about Twitch's ability to kill a single target, yeah?

If that is the case can you show the math on Twitch w/ 3 items killing a bruiser/tank?

Press W then E and clears the whole wave, good stuff. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

l Helios l15 votes

You mean 37% of his mana at level 2? That sounds like some great waveclear there lol

Techfusion77 votes

That doesn't do any where near enough damage to clear a wave until extremely late game though.

Salson3 votes

He would still auto win with 3 items.

He needs his AD bonus on ult removed, with duration buff if it hurts him too hard.

Sire Hippington3 votes

I'd prefer him to not simply auto won past 3 items.

Caitlyn cough cough cough

  1. Twitch doesn't win at 3 items. He needs to be pretty much full build to auto-win teamfights.

  2. This is why you draft disengage against Twitch. He can't kill you if you're out of his range.

Dissengage will not stop Twitch from killing your team unless every single member of your team has it individually (or a Tahm, and 3 others).

Dissengage often relies on stopping your opponent from locking you down and bodyblocking damage. You can't bodyblock Twitch.

almost every diver will just totally fuck him, if you pick a team that cant shut down a backline priority, thats on you

If he was weaker early than Vayne, they would have to just start you off with 10 deaths. She is a piece of wet rice paper early on.

That said, is early game is much to strong given how strong he is mid-late.

Bob the Toastr1 votes

Hey, don't insult Vayne by comparing her to the turrets that are actually wet rice paper. Her early game is better than theirs. And her late game is about 50x better lul.

Granduss1 votes

This would require that Riot learns how to balance: an impossibility.

Khadaver1 votes

Or just make him not auto win at 3 items, i don't think that's ok.

HEXXEN9x1 votes

Every buff hes received for the past 4 years were small reverts from his god like vanilla form! If you want to complain, go back in time when half the roster couldn't counter him and R applied 100% damage to all targets. He shall not be stopped!

A champion with only a situational MS boost and a weak slow, who relies on bad vision to make his engages needs a weaker early game... Siiiiigh

I main jinx, and twitch is my second favourite adc. from my experience i can say twitch is strong but not as strong as jinx lategame when teamfighting. Just back off from twitch's ult or focus him down.

Jinx's rocket range deals AOE dmg at almost the same range while being on no CD, her ult can potentially turn a teamfight, she has some form of hard cc and becomes even stronger every time someone drops.

If you do get caught out by twitch, he deserves to take some people down with him. If then a miracle happens and he actually gets peel from his team, you're in for a bad time.

Otherwise, while twitch has decent/good push Jinx just outpushes 90% of the champion roster and sieges like a beast with her passive.

SenzaRespiro891 votes

Get caught out by a stealth champ 4Head. Jinx isn't even the topic, don't know why you bring her in. Oh just back off or focus him down? It's that easy? Just ignore jarvan and vlad diving your team with their ults while janna shields, heals, shields and heals twitch while he auto draintanks off of your team. Seriously watch his winrates, the higher the elo the higher is twitches winrate. Twitch is broken and disgusting with a functional peeling team.

Jerry SeinfeId1 votes

Your didn't read past the title did you? He uses jinx in his comparison.

Yes, that's clearly all twitch right. I forgot that when i pick twitch i get a free janna with it. He might be a bit strong but support shields are retarded rn.

We should look tot nerf both a little instead of gutting twitch.

Torgal1 votes

Nerf Yasuo early game first.

Leonerdo1 votes

I mean, Caitlyn needs nerfs for being one of the best ADCs in every situation (plus a really high Pick/Ban rate in Pro play). Draven needs nerfs for auto-winning lane phase with a Vamp Scepter + his Q, and then auto-snowballing with his passive. And once those are out of the way, Twitch will be the top ADC, with no one to keep him down in the laning phase. So then he will certainly need nerfs too.

But eh, if all that happens, then someone else (probably MF, Tristana, and Kog'Maw) will just take their place. And relative to other points in recent League history, the current ADC balance is actually pretty decent. Cait, Draven, and Twitch may be clear front runners, but 10 bans makes them managable, and below them there are like 10 other viable ADCs. The only truly unviable ADCs are Corki and Ezreal (and people still play plenty of Ezreal).

So overall, I think I can wait for ADC nerfs. I would be happy to see some nerfs if they are done right, but I'm in no rush to see some other ADCs take the OP crown.
