@Meddler Are these really the only changes Elise is getting?

I believe those are the changes for 5.14, though I don't have the patch notes to hand at the moment so there might be something small I'm forgetting.

While there are only a few lines of change there I do think we'll see some substantial improvement in Elise's performance. The stun increase in particular is a pretty substantial buff, increasing stun duration by 60% for the majority of the game (Elise, even with the current E rank ups, still tends to max E last, so has rank one E until level 14).

As much as the Spiderling damage buff might be good, it won't really help that much since those Spiderlings die to a slight breeze. Can't they be a little more durable? Or maybe give Elise more means of creating extra Spiderlings in late-game?

what i still fail to understand here is if it´s intended for her to have most of her strength in the spiderling-dps that only works vs objects that don´t run away but totally fails vs Champions? If so the intended role for her is stunbot/splitpusher?

Apparently they've also increased their movement speed slightly so they are a TAD more practical against champions. But AP Elise will push down towers extremely fast after this change so splitting might suit her.

So we're back to stunbot Elise jungle.

Wonderful. Perfect change in completely the right direction.

Elise players have gave plenty of feedback to help push Elise in the right direction. I understand the changes to the stun brings its early game strength back.

But I don't understand whats the use of buffing the spider lings scaling and not her other skills? It doesn't bring any power to her late game which everyone knows she needs. And why? because her spider lings die too quickly late game for this "buff" to be even effective then. At least give them back the multi target damage reduction of 10%/20%/30%/40% instead of just the flat 25%.

So why after all of the Elise players feedback this was the only changes we see for 5.14?

I have to ask, with the change of spiderling damage from physical to magic, does that mean Elise's spiderlings will no longer damage structures? Also +5% AP on spiderling damage is a huge buff, that's +25% AP on a Spider Form Q late game when Elise has 5 spiderlings on her, coupled with spiderlings doing magic damage now, I question if Elise will be too strong maxing W>E>Q and melting people.

They still damage structures. I've seen it on PBE :)

These are nice buffs, but shouldn't any attempt to help Elise right now start with her W? It feels like a hole in her kit at the moment.

Pretty sure her damage is the issue..

They just buffed her damage by increasing the spiderling AP ratio, and they buffed her damage (very situationally) with the Rappel buff a few patches ago.

But damage has never been Eilse's issue, she does tons of it. The real issue is that she can't build damage while investing enough into defense, so she is probably the single riskiest assassin in the game to play should she build full glass cannon. And unfortunately no amount of reward (damage) currently justifies the risk of taking glass cannon Elise into a team fight.

I hope we see some more next week. But the Buffs are going into the right direction.

Almost a 46 % Winrate. Thats still really bad but the upcoming buffs could help her maybe to reach a 48 % winrate. We will see...

This buff is HUGE. As someone who has been asking for Elise buffs as well, I think these buffs go too far. 1.6 second stun for level 1 E?, that is ridiculously powerful. I would not be surprised if she becomes the TOP early game jungler after 5.14. In addition, her spiderlings now do MAGIC damage and has a buffed ratio, meaning she will clear faster, and will benefit even more from penetration items. Basically, I think these changes make her OP, but I don't think they fix Elise's core problems in her power curve which is still going to fall off heavily after the early game. I actually think these buffs are going to end up getting her nerfed again as the meta is shifting away from the "tank meta" into something more favorable to Elise.

CatSith1 votes

She orignally had a 1.5 stun before it was changed to 1/1.3/1.5/1.7/2 stun.

Hard4Hamsters1 votes

And that was when she was really strong. As I said. This doesn't really fix her core problems, but she is going to be really strong after these changes as the PREMIER early game jungler. She will still be a stunbot come late game, but she is going to be able to dominate the early game so hard, that it won't matter as much that she falls off because the enemy midlaner is 0/7/1 with 68 CS by 20 minutes.

slow and steady changes win the race, otherwise they'll have ryze#2 on their hands
