Will Riot revist the idea of mage junglers?

Skip to the bottom if you want to get to the point

So the jungle, once upona time it use to be a very meta dictated role, you either played what was meta in the jungle, or else you got shat on, while in lower elo, if you were good with a champion you could break a few rules, but it only got harder the higher you climbed. However as the years progressed riot has done a good job in adding a variety of roles in the jungle.

Currently we have

Tank junglers with high cc Gragas RekSai

Assassins with high burst and surprise factor Rengar Khazix Nidalee

Bruiser janglers with utility LeeSin Vi

And the newest list of janglers, marksman junglers, this is probabbly the most interesting of the bunch because in the past, if a teammate took marksman into the jungle, it was pretty safe to assume they were trolling, or just goofing off. However in season 5 we saw some players revisiting the idea, and I guess riot must of been watching for this year they created two marksman to be able to jungle with the intentions to jungle. Graves Kindred

But let us talk about a old breed of janglers that I feel have been forgotten

Mage Junglers Fiddlesticks Elise

The two junglers I listed are the only two Viable and effective mage junglers, I did not include nidalee or Ekko in this list for they play more like assassins, and even Elise is debatable if you could call her a mage or a assassin, because she has a mobile melee form that is made with the purpose to execute. So if we removed Elise from this list, for the most part we only have ONE LEGIT mage jungler, and the LCS players don't even touch him, because of his super high risk play style. I would like to ask my fellow players, do you think the idea of mage junglers will ever be revisited? Why is riot so hesitant to make them? Basically give your thoughts on the idea of a mage who can jungle, for the only two i can name are fiddlesticks and Elise, and like I said, Elise can easily be classified as a assassin because of her melee form.

All though this year, we did get one accidental mage who can jungle, but will never be made into a effective one unless riot decides to adjust his numbers

(I refuse to talk about Malzahar out of personal blessedness)

Well there is a decent AP Jgl, I usually recommend to people: Diana

Sure she's a Hybrid Assassins/Fighter but that is build dependant.

But I guess dealing magic DMG is not what you're looking for. And yes you're right an actuall Mage in JGL would be quite funny. Let's hope Riot will add one someday.

In the meantime: Try Zyra or Malzahar works fine - needs some thoughts about Teamcomps

Have you tried Brand jungle?

I've only done it in normals but he can do a leashless full clear.

I've also heard Karthus Zyra can jungle.
