This one tip revolutionized how I play bot lane. It's simple, but effective.

I'm gonna sound like such an idiot for not learning about this until two days ago, but here we go.

Aim your spell at an enemy when they are attacking a creep. All AA animations force you to stand still and be unable to do anything for a fraction of a second. When you see an allied creep that is low health and the enemy is going to try attacking it, fire your spell at them when they start the animation.

They now have to choose between A) Canceling the auto really quickly and missing the creep and B) Taking the harass.

It is incredibly simple and once you get the hang of it, you will land so many more skillshots.

GL on the rift.

To be honest, this trick applies to every lane. As a matter of facts, people in higher elo even fake their movement, pretending to go for the cs and then moving another direction to predict the attack.

Yeah, I didn't mean to say that this was bot lane only, but it just really effected how I play soraka bot. I went from landing maybe 25% of Qs to about 60% of Qs in the laning phase, depending on who I face.

Very simple, but one of the most golden beginner tips existing.

Also, this is why I tend to take cannon minions with ranged abilities instead of AA, because the danger of being harrassed is lower. But it's a trade, of course.

This is pretty much the reason that Plat ADCs have lower average CS than gold ones btw...

Most Plat adcs and supports get this, and apply it, most gold ones dont.

so true

It's especially good on cannon minions, because it increases the odds of them greeding for it and taking the bad trade.

This x10. I learned to go for harass on cannon minions at low health b/c you know people don't want to give up that gold.

I will also drop AOE spell behind them based on their pathing b/c their nature is to back in fear, behind them means they have to push up to us as well. Also putting them in danger.

Even more harass if you're playing someone like Zilean with his huge dmg output early game. Just do a quarter of their health with time bomb as soon as they try to go in for cs.

Yeah, that's basic Trading Stance 101, which is good to learn. The concept applies to all roles (though for junglers it comes in the form of 'invade the enemy while they're doing red/blue, and isn't quite "trading stance".)

You further want to recognize the Zones Of Threat enemies possess, because at higher levels they will be looking to do the same thing to you (both ADC and support). Playing around with Trading Stance, and positioning yourself so you can apply it as much as possible are a critical part of all lanes, not just bot.

welcome to season 1? Good tip, but supes old.

Doesn't apply to skillshots only. Any form of harass.

In bot lane you also have to account for the combined zones of threat and jungler + mid laner pressure.

This isn't just a botlane tip. Whenever I play Karthus I always use this to try and poke my enemy/deny cs with my Qs.

I abused this so much when playing Nami lol
