Yeah you must really struggle early game against the melee top laners who can't even touch you without eating your targeted damage.

It** is** inconsistent and unreliable, especially as a top laner. She's probably the easiest top laner to camp in the entire game and this fact alone makes her unreliable. However, if she makes it through the laning phase in decent shape, she's broken. Kayle also struggles hard against longer ranged teams with lots of AOE and absolutely dominates shorter ranged teams, making her even more unreliable. All in all, it comes out massively in Kayle's favor but there are still plenty of games where she's doomed from the start.

DunkinNoobs1 votesIt's unreliable in the sense that it's largely out of her control. Kayle naturally pushes and has no escape so any jungler that wants to camp her is going to be able to. It's not much better as a jungler; you're a piss poor early duelist so nearly any invading jungler can just have their way with you. Yes, Kayle is broken if she makes it out of laning phase in decent shape, but whether or not that happens is largely dependent on her opponent rather than herself, which makes her unreliable.

And yes, all things considered, if you are lucky enough to survive past early game and the majority of mid game, Kayle shines. Otherwise, she's just a resistance shred/ult bot with no mobility and very little utility.
Almost no one plays her, which is good, because not everyone should or can play her to the maximum of the macroplay skill she's based around of. And almost no one bans her, which is also good, because it opens up space for actually unbalanced champions to be banned.
I´m happy for the fact her VGU won´t happen for a long while, most likely for the majority of season 7 and most of season 8. And when it does, very little will actually be changed if Riot does intend to follow the new class/subclass system.

She's hardly FotM. Her top lane average games played is practically the same as Morde's despite her play rate being higher. And her play rate is pretty low. Not as low as Morde's for sure, but she doesn't even make the top 30 most frequently played top laners.
