Why do people find rengar so frustrating?

Yes, I get it - assassins are annoying in general. However, I find rengar to be one of the least, if not the least out of this bunch. Fizz, for eample, i find truly toxic - naturally tanky, impossible to duel or escape from, and can completely outplay with e and q regardless of your personal skill. The most common complaints about rengar AFAIK are: his stealth and his burst

LEt's look at each one of these:

The stealth - eve basically has a perma rengar ult (minus the jump), and there is a very long range indiator on Rengar's ult. In some cases, it may even be better for the rengar to not use ult if the bush for a gank isn't warded, as the indicator range is very large, AND, even if he getson you (I'm not saying it's hard for him to do this - it's just not as easy as people say it is), his burst damage, especially compared to assassins like talon, is very low. he basically has a 3.2 ad ratio full combo (q, q, e, not counting the rest of the utos)- fizz, for example, has nearly a 3.0 AP full combo. comparing that to talon, talon has roughly the same ad ratio full combo, but with much higher base damages. Rengar makes up for his lack of abse damage by being very good duelist with steroid from w and q, but still, in that aspect he is not a great assassin.

I dont play rengar, but i just dont get it - why do people hate this guy so much?

Yeah, his ult is trash due to that range indicator as shown in this vid.

Bush hopping is annoying..

He takes about as much skill as putting bread into a toaster, to play.

His Burst is outrageous since he has 0 resources.

So yeah.. Kind of annoying.

He's one of the hardest champions to play at even a decent level. It's like you people saying Riven and Lee sin are easy though, I suppose.

He does have resources, it's called needing 5 stacks to get a kill unless he's extremely fed or extremely late game, and if said carry has an escape he still needs those stacks.

Besides, resources on assassins unless it's energy, really has no effect on them. Reality of the situation is, an assassins playstyle doesn't center around spamming abilities till oom. It's going in then going out with usually low health.

Umm..

Lol...

Okay so Im gonna guess you've never played Rengar.

He has this sick ability to leap onto a target from a bush.

It also does a nice amount of damage.

Now stack that with you're Q with 5 stacks that are extremely easy to get and it's an easy win gg.

Now, make the stacks harder to obtain, or make it decrease over time and than I'll agree with you that he's harder to play.

Also, Riven = RQQQQQQQ Penta, Lee = QRQ instantkill.

He's weak early and can't oneshot till he has items, meaning using your empowered Q is foolish, thus you have to use your empowered E (a skillshot weather you like to admit it or not), which does take an amount of time to get used to.

It's not only mechanical difficulties that make rengar hard to play, what really makes him difficult is his GAMEPLAY decision. There are two types of main difficulties champion wise, and that is gameplay wise and mechanical wise. I could explain to you WHY this is so difficult, but I don't feel like writing 3+ paragraphs of information.

As for not playing Rengar, my 101.2k mastery score on him says otherwise.

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about if you think Lee or Riven is that easy, and quite honestly, you don't even know lee sins basic burst combo, which for your information, doesn't start with Q.

In order to play Riven properly you have to animation cancel. It's not just QQQQQQ, which is exactly the reason I don't like playing her. It's too much and I don't feel like learning all that just to play the champion properly.

Lee's combo does start with Q. Unless you want to get technical. Than it's more like AA, Item Activate, E , Q, R Q. Or something along those lines.

And yes. Riven is just QQQQQQ after using R... That's her thing. You can throw a W and E for pizzazz and finish off anyone still alive with R.

He's basically like Katarina. Go in at the right time, gets you kills. Which is actually just the gist of most Assassins. But if you want to make it sound harder than need be, by all means. You're basically just saying the medium-long version of what I said.

You have no clue what you're talking about. Kat is a teamfight assassin, Rengar has awful teamfight. They are completely different in every sense of the way.

No, Lee's Combo is RQQ. If you use Q first you risk a dodge, but if you ult them they are stunned and can't move.

Riven has animation canceling. Look it up, and then try it out in a custom, see how successful you are the first time around just doing it to krugs. Then try to take that in a game, against a champion, tell me how "easy" she is.

Same difference, basically they are both assassins. The general idea is they have to go in at the right time to be able to use their respective kits properly.

QRQ. From a bush, it's basically an easy kill. If you miss at that range, uninstall and throw your computer out the window.

So? That doesn't change her combo or her insane damage output if she can get ahead. And once she gets ahead, she stays ahead. IE: Get Gud.

Well, there are so many reasons why Rengar is too strong... No ressources + Health regen => Infinite map presence + doesnt rely of his buffs to do well and can give blue to his mid-laner. AD champ + Low cd escape + No ressources => Good at split pushing.

The fact that the ultimate reveals everything (including in bushes and invisible champs) in 4000 range, no comments Offensive or/and defensive ultimate with 70secs cd @ 18 with NO cdr (-40sec per rank = no comments). His root duration is the same from level 1 to 18...

Let's not talk about the laggy passive that allows you to jump 15%+ further and allows VERY effective lane ganks/traps.

This champ is EXTREMELY strong in soloQ because he is able to punish ennemy team individual mistakes more than EVERY other champs AND it's actually very hard to make mistakes with this champion (that's why he is easy to play) because :

  • Your ult has a low CD, so you can use it freely.
  • You will reveal in a 4000 range, so you're not taking any risk and you can be a zero at map awareness.
  • Even if you miscalculated your damage, you got extra speed from your ultimate to escape.

it's just not as easy as people say it is

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA bull fucking shit as soon as you spot the ADC on the map, you press R as soon as you're in range, you right click if you're a rengar trying to play around the indicator, you're a moron, because there's nothing people can do about rengar's assassinations whether they know he's coming or not it happens instantaneously, he cannot be cced in time, he cannot be flashed away from in time, there is no response to a rengar assassination either on reaction or on prediction that can realistically prevent your ADC from dying unless you're poppy and your inventory is nothing but pink wards every time his ult is off cooldown, your ADC is already dead that's why people "find him frustrating", it's not that complicated
